    Bioshock SP Crashing

When I try to play Bioshock 2 SP sometimes I can't even make it to the menu screen before it crashes. It does not show any visible errors unless I got to the error log in which it says this

"The program BioShock2.exe version 1.0.0.1 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Problem Reports and Solutions control panel. Process ID: 1524 Start Time: 01caacce22dba1a0 Termination Time: 194"

And under Problem history it says

    "Description
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

Ohh also i forgot to mention I have the Steam version and in order to start Single Player I am having to use the .exe in the bianaries folder. I for some reason I cannot start SP from Steam it has the "game is currently unavailable" error message.

    =[

    - Could you then please follow the below path:-

    C:\ Program Files \ Steam \ Steam Apps\ 'user or Common' \ Bioshock 2 \ SP \ Builds \ Binaries

    - In the Binaries file you will find a file named bioshock.exe

    - right click on this file and select send to > desktop (create shortcut)

    - Go to the desktop and right click the shortcut and select Properties

    - select the 'Compatibility'

    - click on the check box where it says 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'

    - select each of the available options in turn checking the games performance after each selection.

    - after you have selected each compatibility option, click apply, then ok.

Always run the game from this shortcut.

Tried all compatibilities, no dice. All of them crashed, or would not start

In order to fully troubleshoot the problem that you are having please try the steps below:

    1. Delete all temporary files from your system.
Hold the windows key and press the 'R' key, this will open the Run window
Type 'temp' then click OK or Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp and delete all files in this folder.
Type '%temp%' then click OK or Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\*Your User Name*\Local Settings\Temp and delete all the files in this folder.

You may need to turn on the ability to view hidden files and folders to do this. To do so, double click My Computer, then click Tools and Options. Then click View and select the option to view all hidden files.
Then reboot and try the game again.

    2. Close down all background tasks.
To do this hold the windows key and press the 'R' key, this will open the Run window, then type MSCONFIG and click OK. From there click on the tab marked startup.
Click the button marked as Disable All, then click Apply and Close.

    3. Reinstalling the game.
Please uninstall the game, then delete the folder that is left behind. Then reboot the computer, reinstall the game and reboot again. Then install any patches that are available for the game, reboot the computer and then try the game again.

Still crashed without a visible error message. I actually got to start the campaign, but crashed after less than a minute.

Lol I sold my 360 to get a better comp. Things will work out. Just have to figure out what software is causing the problem.

Anyway, as I said, I still can use some help =]

Forget that, I'd rather get away from Live altogether, I'm thinking of going with the PS3 version.

No offense guys, but could we not start a spam post. I would really like tech support to take my post seriously. I would like to get my game working without having to call in.

I have it for 360. Having several problems still. Got stuck in peephole room, left on for like 45 mins and got disk is unreadable, still said that for like 3 times after that, then I had to take it out and clean it. Also on the last level if you wack the glass at a certain time while stuff is going on it freezes. Happened 3 times. Twice by accident third confirmed it. Had to repeat that level too. Was almost done with it. Then multiplayer just froze for me the first time. Can't wait for a patch

For the last two times I got the game running, I have this error message in my application log

    "Title BioShock2.exe (1, 0, 0, 1) XLive 3.1.0099.0 (WGX_XLIVE_V3.01_RTM.091106-1035) C:\Windows\system32\xlive.dll
    0x80151002

    XLive Logon Failed

    00:0F:70:70:C0:07
    192.168.0.101
    0xfb000000004c5418
    LogonHR == 0x001510f0
Games for Windows - LIVE DLL"

I'm going to uninstall it and re-install it again and see if I get the same error.

Ok now I got a silent crash. No error message, nothing under my event log, and under control panel the problem solutions thing did not register either

So far I have crashed at the cut scene when the BS floods the room on you in the beginning and when I tried to unlock the first coded door.
