Mark Meltzer Wrap Up *WARNING SPOILERS*

For those of us that have beaten Bioshock 2 and are still curious as to Mark Meltzer's fate.

I am pleased that they gave us the pleasure of hearing his story on audio diaries, that was a lot of fun. I only collected 4 or 5 of them though, perhaps that's all there is. I think I even heard him have a shoot out with a big sister at some point.

Anyway, from what I gathered, I think Mark became a big daddy. If this is true, I'm kind of sad. For some reason, I wanted the fairy-tale ending for him and his daughter.

I would have prefered that Mark sees Cindy for the last time as an actual human and Cindy as a regular girl. Even if they both died in that instance, anything to me would be better then what actually happened to them. Don't worry Mark the truth will out!

Also, why were the big sisters letting cindy communicate with Mark. I don't think we found that out.

anyways, I found a way to let Mark live but still get the 3rd sister.

This just an assumption, but I'm pretty sure it's acurate. It's also quite sad.

Mark becomes a BD because Lamb says he will be able to protect Cindy forever. Lamb was lying, Mark is like any other BD, he protects all Sisters not just one. He doesn't get to protect Cindy. The reason I'm so sure of this is that Cindy has blonde hair. The Sister with Mark is brunette.

None of the Little Sisters you come across are blonde (I believe there was only one that was a slightly close to blonde hair colour, but I cannot be sure). The only time he runs into Cindy (that we know of) is in Dionysus park.

Unfortunately, Lamb does appear to lie to Mark, or at least leave out the extent of the truth. She allows Mark to assume that he will be bonded to one sister and one sister alone. The ultimate point is that Mark is not an Alpha series, and thus doesn't have that one on one connection to a little sister. He views all of them as Cindy.

On one level, this is completely tragic. On another, its wonderfully kind. Lamb (the psychotic cow that she is) both gave him what he wanted and killed him. The little sisters got a real father, and he got multiple Cindy's. He also dies doing what he intended to all along, protect his "daughter."

Grief, my friends, is a fickle thing. I'll admit, I grieved for Mark (bonus points to 2k for that), but it was a better experience than not even making it to Rapture. He wasn't originally intended to be in the game and yet he made it. He got to see Cindy again. That is better than nothing.

I would have rather found 2 bodys labeled mark and Cindy nailed to the floor with scissors...

Rofl... I was always pulling for Mark killing himself upon realizing what had happened to Cindy or being killed by a Big Daddy trying to get her back. One of my later theories had something to do with him being lured down to Rapture to become a Big Daddy... I'm kind of sad to see that it was, in part, true.

Just posted this in the SitS thread...and I just feel I have to post it in both Mark Melzer threads here...

Well everyone..I just got to the point in B2 where I found out about what happens with Mark....and...I must say,and I am filled with a mixture of emotions...I am not angry...but I am sad..and yet I am happy...I am sad because after we've all come to help Mark in his quest and all Mark himself as done....he has been turned into a mindless Big Daddy,forever to roam Rapture under the ''spell'' all Big Daddies are under But I am happy because he did find Cindy(even though she is a Little Sister) and in his mind, all the Little Sisters he probably protected until that point will be ''Cindy'',so in his mind at least he would always be protecting Cindy like a father should up to the point where we killed him...thank you for everything and may your soul Rest in piece,Mark G. Meltzer...hopefully one day your daughter will be saved from the decaying dystopia that is Rapture.

My god, the makeshift big daddy suit hadn't seemed odd to me until I read the title of his dead body. I had to load from the last save (which had been much much earlier in the level) just so I had the clear conscience of not killing Mark. Ugh, tragic. Mark will forever be the man.
