I found Billy Parson's sad; his crush on a Little Sister was cute
Gloria Parson was sad to; then she said "awful Sinclair" then I was angry

Again, anything by Augustus Sinclair was wonderful.

The debates between Sofia Lamb and Andrew Ryan were intresting; kinda sad how Ryan lost the public vote

There are so many to choose from! I'll try and stray from the ones that people have mentioned much here already.

Personally, I liked the Atlantic Express man's (eh, I'm bad with names) diaries. I just found the irony that he died having his industry fail to the Bathysphere, only for us to notice that after his death, the bathyspheres that destroyed his business are now being decommissioned by Lamb anyway. It was just a bit... touching, since he seemed like a very old-fashioned "down with the ship" guy and his death was unnecessary.

I loved Lamb's audio-diary, "Know the Beast", because her address to the people who would expect her, I think the words were to "worship nature" were exactly the way I think as a uni student of courses in evolution, genetics, etc. It gave me new insight and helped me understand both her philosophy, and method.

Most of the ones that didn't make it into the game are really cool too.

Audio-diaries may admittedly not be as "quotable" as the first game, but they have not lost their charm. I look forward to finding all the ones I missed on my second play-through.

I like the diaries from Mark and Fontaine. Mark cause its interesting kinda following him through rapture as he learns more and more about the place, and Fontaine cause after playing BS1 so much its kinda funny listening to him talk about becoming Atlas and such (really like how they kinda added in small things that point back to BS1 such as the remains of the airplane Jack was on that you can see when you go out into the ocean for the first time.)

My favourite is probably the last one by Nina (Deterioration i think?). Very touching, and you can feel the ambience when you find her corpse.

She was selfless; she thought the kids needed it more.

The last level... the two audio diaries of Little Sisters...

She broke her leg but because she can feel pain, but is invernable - it grew back at an odd angle, they had to reset her legs 12 times.

Also the one where they give Little Sisters pain medication.... and they chewed their tounges off.

Nancy Carnegie (I think that's her name - the woman who starved herself so the kids could live) because I am proud of myself for finding it lol

I love Leo Hartwig's "Field Trial #1" and Sofia Lamb's "Ryan vs. Lamb: Religious Rights".

"A man's only duty is to himself. To imply otherwise, therefore, is criminal." I love that line.

New face. I have a new goddamn face -- who'da thought? Rapture...
    paradise of the confidence man.
I gotta keep revising the Atlas voice. I figure the accent gives me an
excuse to lock myself in a room with a bottle and count the cash.
War's on in full now, boy... and I've got a hell of a surprise for Andrew
Ryan. Long time comin'. And right about now, I expect the prodigal son is
    bookin' his flight...

I loved this one since it was kinda annoying to get but loved how it blended 1 BS 1 and 2. but of course I loved the last audio log from Mark since I had been following sits it came as a shocker lol

Yeah I have to agree, Eleanor taking apart the audio diary and Billy's message to the little sister were both awesome.

Goodbye fontaine and Hello Atlas is also epic.

My favorite is early in the game, with Ryan about the great chain, and how he is okay with Lamb silenceing the rattling from the weakest links in the chain. also there som good ones on the cult of rapture site: http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture...veaudiodiaries

  24. I'll first say that while I do like the diaries left by Lamb and Ryan, I prefer the ones left by ordinary citizens.

Nina's are my favourite, especially the last one - Deterioration. So depressing and it shows that not everyone in Rapture cared only for themselves. Here's the transcript:

Two weeks at my last count... two weeks since we were trapped in this rotten park. I haven't been eating... the children need all the supplies we've got left. Need them more than I do. I... I don't know what's going to happen. I can feel myself getting weaker. The children have noticed the condition I'm in, of course... What will happen once I'm gone? They'll be... all alone...

And the fact that you find her body with children's drawings around it is quite touching. One thing I'm wondering though, where were the other chaperones?

Also, I've heard the theory that Billy was forced to read the note to lure the Big Daddy into a trap. There was a removed audio diary left by his mother that explains a bit about it:

You'll never guess what your boy did today! We were leaving the carousel after a day at Dionysus Park and he was staring at one of those terrifying Big Daddies. When I asked him what he was looking at, he wouldn't answer me. Oh, Harold, why did you leave us?! Billy needs a father!

I have no idea why they removed some of these audio diaries. This is one that I like, left by Lamb.

Imagine you are a child - born here, under water. You've never seen the sun... but Rapture is a secret. Contact with the surface is forbidden. So, your parents bring you somewhere to feed you ice lollies and terrify you out of ever leaving the perfect city all around you. That's Ryan Amusements - and I consulted on it. This concludes my business with Ryan Industries... permanently.

My favourite Audio Diary in bioshock 2 has to be one of the very first ones, its in the crashed bathysphere on the first ocean walk, called "Escape From Rapture"... something about that audio diary that made me shiver, and gave the first incite as to what an evil woman lamb was...

"Sammy: She's seen us! It's Lamb! Torpedo!!! ... I'll try to -- (Screaming, gurgling)"

A few pop into my head:

    1. Obviously, "Goodbye to Fontaine". The ending was halarious.
    2. Both of the "Ryan vs. Lamb" debates. Those were very interesting, seeing how Ryan was owned in both of them.
    3. "A Gift from Billy". Aww...
    4. "Lost and Found". That was really sad.
    5. "Alone at Last". Again, I do feel bad for Ryan. Finally he gets some peace and quiet, away from Fontaine and Lamb.
    6. "Meltzer's Choice". Again, sad, and kinda scary. But it gave me a moment to pause.
    7. "Blessing in Disguise".

    TAK

Hmmm....I like Fontaine's, as stated earlier. But my favorite is one by Andrew Ryan, when he finds out that Jasmine sold the egg to Fontaine. When he says "Sinclair saw me, and the bastard looked me straight in the eye and said 'you should get an appointment with Lamb'". That's very funny and ironic

Can't remember who it is from but it is from early on in the game. One person records into the audio log how everything is going tits up. That he doesn't have time for friends, bathy spheres are taking over ...and that Andrew Ryan was asking him to put his own money into the economy to give breathing room.

Or something like that but the reason that stood out is that it sounds like the complete opposite of what an objectivist is. Which means that as Rapture started failing, Ryan ditched his beliefs and became a hipocrite. That gave me the biggest insight into the man this game and just what Rapture was built on.

By Far, Goodbye To Fontaine. That was possibly the greatest thing ever when he switched voices.
-2. Billy Parson. Gotta love cute little billy
-3. Ryan vs. Lamb Debates. Those 2 were awesome. I wish there were more of those
-4. Mark Metzler's Final Diary. Crazy how his story ended.

As I was typing this i was wondering, where do you guys think those debates between Ryan & Lamb happened? Just curious, lol

My favorite one would have to be... the one by Eleanor that's behind that fan in the Atlantic Express.

My general question is that, I know the audio diaries are spread out throughout the world and at random, But, I wonder if people within the world actually placed them in certain areas thinking someone might stumble across it?
