BS2 Random Freezing on Ps3?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but my BS2 has frozen half a dozen times in random places on my PS3. My PS3 is just over a year old, but it hasn't done this with any other games.

Is this a known bug or is it my machine?

My game hasn't frozen completely, but I've had controls stop responding once. As it happens, I didn't have a saved game at that moment, and the latest checkpoint was from almost two hours before, so I just stopped playing. I'll probably trade it in this weekend and rent it from GameFly later, as I don't feel like replaying those two hours over again, plus I'm tired of switching my ps3 resolution to 720p and back to 1080p, because the game looks like crap in 1080p

By the looks of it, it doesn't look like there was any sort of QA involved before this game was released, since the issues it has only a blind wouldn't notice.
