Possible Plothole in my opinion *Spoilers*

How can we meet the very two men, Augustus Sinclair and Gilbert Alexander that built the Vita-Chamber; kill them and have them not revive in one.

Yes, I know it was tuned to Ryan's frequency!

    But;

Sinclair was an oppotunist, he would not listen to Andrew Ryan; he hated him!

Elenor revived Delta using his DNA in a Vita-Chamber, why did she not do the same for Sinclair? (Yes, I know he wanted to die but surely there was a way to undo the conditioning Lamb had on him)

Maybe I am sad of Sinclair's death

    I.....I need time to recover.

The only plothole I noticed was the whole suchong death thing, it was the first big daddy that had been successfully bonded with a little sister that killed him, but it seems Delta came after Suchongs death, very confusing.

I wish Suchong had an audio diary

Ah therein lies the rub. Suchong successfully bonded the ones that Gil was talking about in that one diary, the ones that will only respond when the sisters are attacked (he says like a sheepdog who wanders away unless a wolf is attacking the flock). Suchong started the process, Gil finished it.

I laugh on how wrong I was about Alexander!

But I am thrilled that I was the first to point out he will come!

I think Sinclair just over looked it. In his money grabbing and inventing he had the "I'm smart enough not to die" mentality going on. Oh Sinclair I will miss you and your accent.

    Multiple reasons.

    1) Augustus Sinclair is a smart man, but he's no quantum physicist.

    2) Gil Alexander, who IS a quantum physicist, worked for Sofia and would not have tuned an enemy of the Family.

    3) Gil is suicidal, and if he WERE programmed into it, he'd have undone it to facilitate his death.

Yes it was, 2K seems to have changed alot of the initial story script.

Delta passed from being the 1st Daddy into a series of Beta models... which didnt felt unique anymore.
The little sister aint one of those that Jack Ryan took to the surface and wanted to go back to meet Delta and rapture as we had understood before.

I wanted to know who Delta used to be before becoming a big daddy and battling a unique little sister.
This felt more like an action adventure instead of the thriller action suspense game that the 1st one was.

They made new characters and tryied to stuff them in the important parts. Most felt very pretentious.

As much as I tried to and wanted to follow the plot, I found some bits very confusing. I understand this bit now.... is that the very same one behind you at the start of the game?

I also felt that should be understood. All we know is he was "Johnny Topside". Maybe that's the only interesting part, canonically, but 2k surely couuld have worked something better before canon was established. =/

I think when 2K says 'successful', they mean 'the first Big Daddy that didn't drill your top scientist into a table after otherwise being a complete failure'...

Yes, because Gil mentiones Suchong's death; but the called them "Big Daddies" after that, yet in Bioshock 1 Suchong calls them Big Daddies!

And you may not call Sinclair a quatum physic man but Suchong mentions that Sinclair did try to explain the science

  23. #23
You call that a plot hole? You should ask yourself, who puts you in vita chambers when you die ... and why does it happen in less than 1 second.

I will call that the mircale of teleportation!

We are no arguing about the science; we are arguing about the canon

I don`t buy it. I mean then maybe I could teleport to the vita chamber in last level, if big daddy is somekind of nightcrawler. Though ... the vita chambers explain the enemies that keep respawning.

Splicers can't use Vita-Chamber's- you need your DNA programmed in them first

The developers wanted players to feel like they were Delta. To allow these they couldn't have too much information about Delta be give to players.

Oh, I do miss Sinclair. Wish there was a way to play through without him becoming a Large Father. That'd sure make my day.

Or would it? I dunno. It'd seem like a sort of kick in the teeth.

If its his corpse holding a sign saying "Surprise! I really am dead!" would you be upset? :P

All meanness aside, I ended up liking Sinclair. I still wouldn't have put it past him (had they got to the surface) to turn around and betray you, but simply because he got turned into a Daddy I had to forgive him. I like your theory about the Vita Chambers, but at the same time we have to take into account that he was killed in Persephone, which fell into the trench. For all we know, he was out of range of the other chambers when the pressure got too great to stay alive (assuming that he "revived" right away after you killed him in another room; and also that could mean he was every single alpha you fought at the end... Frightening thought...).

if there's a possibility that gil isn't dead you also have to consider that fontaine might not be dead aswell along with a host of other characters.

    just out of curiosity, can one be revitalized in the vita-chamber that is closest to where you died or can you be revitalized anywhere else there happens to be a vita-chamber? if you could only use the vita-chambers near by when you died, it would kinda bite for sinclair since he would be revitalized in persephone after it's collapse. O_o;

    This made me laugh. XD

Also, a quick thing that I'd like to point out for Sinclair Saucer. You can hypnotise Sinclair. Not for long, but it's possible. Just thought you'd like to try this out.

    Just a thought --

But if we're going to argue why such and such didn't revive...why not go all out and wonder why every single person that dies doesn't get revived?

Then again, I played with Vita-Chambers off...so it made some sense that no one came back

Thats an idea actually. they could bring back that character real easy by saying he faked his death but couldn't tell delta about it over the radio cause Lamb would hear. He would be REALLY easy to bring into a sequel.

Does Sinclair or Gil ever talk about the creation of the Vita-Chambers in the game? I haven't found all the diaries yet, just wondering.
