So I noticed that ever animatronic display is denouncing something Ryan himself would eventually do.

"On the surface, big governments steal the scientific achievements of true innovators!" (Nationalizing Fontaine Futuristics)

"On the surface, big governments punish artists for expressing views which do not support the state!" (The fates of Anna Culpepper and Grace Holloway. The park's creators were none too pleased about the outcome, either...)

"On the surface, children are taken to serve the state and fight their wars!" (At least Fontaine used orphans and didn't actually wrestle the children from their crying parents.)

Anyone else catch on to this?

I like to think of Ryan's ghost forced to morosely drift past each of those displays, now patron saint of the hypocrite.

I caught on too. I really liked the Efficacy audio diary "I know this facility is vital to the preservation of secrecy in Rapture. But seeing myself transformed into that... lurching, waxen nightmare... do children truly respond to this? Still, I spoke to a young man exiting the park after the grand opening, asking him what, if anything, he had learned here. He said his chores didn't seem so bad anymore -- as long as mother wouldn't send him to the surface."

I loved this diary also I like how even Ryan denounces the park and he seemed more interested or slightly troubled in the childs answer.

To Me it seemed he wanted to actually teach children why he left the surface but ended up with a scare tactic ride.

I'm sure having a view of the surface world as somewhere with giant grabbing hands and pointing fingers would be horrible...

I was quite creeped out by Ryan's Amusements as well. I couldn't tell if an animatronic was a splicer or not so I ended up destroying each one as I walked around. I like the fact that they use those audio speeches because for those of us who played Bioshock 1, we know Ryan ends up being a hypocrite. Btw, does anyone know what happened to the kids who were sleeping over there on New Year's? Everytime I see pillows and blankets, I wonder if they were killed by splicers...
