Wherefore Art Thou Delta?
I apologize for quoting Romeo and Juliet (and in retrospect, it was probably a bad idea, I'm muddling the language to suit my purpose), but I felt it fitting when posting a thread like this.
I really wonder, on a deep level, as to whether or not Delta can be classified as a "living being." Yes, he shot himself in the head and was awoken ten years later but the means by which this occurred perplex me. Ten years after being shot in the head, his "real body" probably burned and shoved out the nearest airlock a long time ago, how would Elanor have a direct copy of his DNA to regenerate him in a vita chamber? Moreover, how would one little sister (being controlled by Elanor or not) be able to bring him back without that direct DNA?
Now, thinking back to the first game and ADAM's ability to store the genetic memories of the people who used it, I could assume that Delta's mind is in the genetic code of "shared" ADAM and Elanor willed him out of that shared ADAM (has anyone listened to the Simon Wales cut diaries about the Demiurge? That's kind of the sentiment I'm pulling at here).
So, is Delta human? A Daddy? An ADAM entity?
If its the latter, I think that is a very intriguing and complex thing to make him. In all technicality, he "can't" die (as evidenced by the bad ending).
What do you guys think? New breed of human or some sort of living ADAM machine?

Well
first lets get out what a human is shall we?
well..
Blood, flesh, feelings and an own mind.
you got your human, So Now lets come to Delta . im not sure if the delta we are playing had flesh and blood. the one in 1958 rather did.
Delta obviously has feelings for eleanor. in this father Daughter relationship he is feeling love.I dont think he is doing it for the ADAM.
And he got his own mind thats what differs him from other big daddy.
although His feelings are kinda fake.. he still has them.
aww man i have no idea.. i would say he is a human

That is part of the mystery of the island..
Since we're already placing wrong quotes in the wrong posts, why not.
Anyways - You'll notice after the quar chamber that Lamb states you must die of 'natural' causes and not trauma, as you'll just appear somewhere else.
That being said, in the sense of the games story, you're a concept, an idea.
In a more physical view, you're her father.
Eleanor and Delta are linked and atleast Delta can't live without Eleanor due to the bonding. By no means should it be assumed it doesn't work both ways.
Lamb can't toss delta out as that'd kill her daughter. (Most likely)

Eh, I didn't make my question very clear. What I meant was is Delta like Jack was after using the vita chambers, in that he is a clone of the being that he was ten years prior, or is he just an ADAM memory; a ghost given physical form, the golem that Tennenbaum accused Daddies of being in the first place?
-
My assumption was that he is clone, in the same way Jack was. But I do not know for sure, and your question is defintely an intriguing one. I do not know.
But Jordan has been posting a lot today in response to story questions, perhaps we can hope he posts here.
