    Augustus Sinclair *SPOILERS*

So I was very pleased to see that our friend Mr. Sinclair was NOT a diabolical mastermind out to rule Rapture, but rather an opportunist who simply never had the opportunity to be a better man. I'm sure we all had visions of us defeating Sofia and suddenly hearing his Geiorgian accent announcing his intent to finally sell Rapture off to the Commies and, 'Oh, ah could nevah have dun it without yer acomahdating, Mistah Delta sir...'

Thanks, guys, for subverting our expectations without disappointing them!

I don't know how a scrawny guy like that could bulk up as a big delta within the span of hours/days.

Would have liked more audio diaries from Augustus.

But yeah, was a good character and did somewhat atone for what he did.

I actually felt worse about killing him than killing any Little Sister in the game.

Yeah I was upset to have to kill Sinclair. But I like the way he went out. People were under the impression that he was just an oppurtunist after money. The way he died showed that he was a good man, and he showed great will power when communicating with you while fighting Lamb's mind control. I think that was a great way for Sinclair to go, as a hero.

Then how does one get the key!

If that was the case I would leave him well alone.

And yes, I felt terrible. I almost threw up

Rosie THE riveter-You don't HAVE to kill Sinclair....

^Got rid of the quote brackets because you can't put spoiler tags on them.

Are you sure? How do you get around it. I felt like some of the game's dialogue did suggest that you didn't have to kill him, but I didn't see anyway around it.

Agreed; if there was a choice I would have left him alone

Yeah, I unfortunately had to kill him. It didn't seem to affect my good ending though...So I'm not sure how much signficance there is. Plus, he did say he'd rather die like a man...or whatever. I forget the exact line.

I was pissed when I used Hypnotize 3 on him and it made him friendly, but the game still made me kill him for the key. When I got the idea to use Hypnotize, I thought for sure there would be an alternate ending planned for that :/

Hmm.. That was a very clever idea, it's unfortunate it didn't work.

I gotta give Sinclair props. I really thought for sure that he was going to betray us. All of his diaries portray him as someone concerned with only himself. He did seem to show some genuine regret regarding his actions that led to the creation of Delta.

It's too bad what had to happen to him. I suppose the fact that he DIDN'T betray us has to be considered one of the big twists of the game.

    See I was right!

People said, Sinclair Saucer you just mind of stupidity; don't you know Sinclair is evil.

And I was right; he has a heart of love

Sinclair for the win! Forever and ever!

Easily the best character in the whole game. Sinclair just proved you CAN be selfish and it not be a terrible thing. If anything, he was what Ryan should have been. We need more people like him; people who are out for their own gain but not so much that they disregard everyone else.

    Thank you!

    Sinclair for the win!

Well, I don't mean ter butt in here and ahll, but thank yer fer yer kahnd words, gennlemen. :P

Ahaha. I can't even do my own accent.

I don't know about the idea that I showed that being selfish is OK. If anything, my final, redemptive act was selfless (telling you how to get the key off me). Being selfish isn't always a bad thing, but I think I learnt some life lessons up against ol' Doc Lamb at the end there.

I am Augustus SInclair you impersinator!

Unfortunately, son, I seem to have both the name and the face to go with it. Doesn't look like your case has legs. I'd say Ahm Augustus Sinclair.

As they say, "In the land of truth, the man with one fact is king." I seem to have one fact.

I think we should also factor into this discussion, the fact that I did some pretty terrible things in Rapture. Particularly in Persephone.

Ask anyone! I am Sinclair! You just took the name before I. I have to go under this 'guise for saftey son. But thanks for diverting all the attention from me

  27. #27
I think whoever "anyone" is that they're going to agree with me. Everything stacks up in my favour.

Seems strangely like I not only took this name before you, but existed before you, too.

You're clearly just some sauced-up splicer impostor. Never my style to go sneaking around in the shadows under some assumed name - I always like to look people in the eye honestly in my business. Your story sounds like something Fontaine would do, not me.

    Definitely not Sinclair.

Which is how your story plays out son. You use his really name where the real Sinclair, me, would use a psyduenome.

But lets not argue; it does not matter.

Was that from In the Loop?

I didn't want to kill Sinclair, but there's no way of getting around it I suppose. It sets up so you have to kill him, and Sinclair says he'd rather die then be trapped in a BD suit. So, when the radio went in Persephone, did Lamb nab him them?

Yeah, she blocked the singal to get someone to kidnap him.

Ironic when he said "I like my body" and then became that.

I hope to God his organs weren't grafted; that would make me sad

As stated, Saucer, I clearly make the more plausible case as Sinclair. You don't even seem to have got my personality right. Give it up.

And yes, that's from In the Loops. Hilarious movie.

I don't think the radio cutting out was Sinclair being nabbed. I'm sure he states that "something in the room" is jamming the signal. I suspect that it was Eleanor. Her tormented, ADAM-overloaded mind probably blocked out the radiowaves. I think he just gets nabbed while you're passed out.

I find it very interesting that he comes back as an Alpha-series. That doesn't seem to make sense because you'd think that all the equipment needed for that type of modification would have been replaced for the later Big Daddy models.

    Plausible case *snort*

Na, I ain't Sinclair, and neither are you, because even if Sinclair is alive, he was born before 1914, so he would be 96+ by now. Very slim chnace he would be alive, especially since he smokes

The story was meh... I would had prefered to have tenebaum as companion rather than having Sophia and Sinclair talking like annoying parrots during all the game.

On the 1st one the radio voices where really good but in this one they turned really annoying.

I wouldn't use the word 'noble', but yes, Sinclair Saucer was right all along, despite the fact almost all of us thought he was blind.

he was a good character, but 2K just putted him too much on the face of the player.

Too much audio diary of Sofia and Sinclair. Why not diaries of more people giving toughs on Jack Ryan completely changing rapture.

Also Eleanor being sofias daughter was meh.... Why couldnt she be one of the sisters that Jack took to the surface like in the original script? And she missed Delta etc...

Sigh... story felt kind of flat if you ask me...
