    What an utter waste

I am not one to whine especially since I love BioShock, but online in this game is by far and away the worst I've played. Both sides take the blame. I live far away and I get matched up with people across the planet. My connection is laggy, I shoot an entire round of bullets, IN THE HEAD, on someone yet it takes them like 1-2 shots to kill me.

And what's up with the constant freezing when respawiing?

The fact that this game has online trophies made me feel like I'm 'forced' to play online.

I am a trophy completionist and if you don't like it then bite me. I don't care.

This really makes me sad. I cannot play online and I have to reach rank 40.

My copy has never frozen once.

It usually helps to tell which system you are playing it on or else devs will just give ya a shoulder sign of "dunno".

sounds like the problem is on your end. Sorry to hear it but it's working fine for other people.

It IS a problem on my end because I live in the UAE and I NEVER get matched up with people from my region. It's always either Europe and North America.

But 2K should have known that not everyone is privileged to have solid connection and live in countries where BioShock 2 is popular. Games should be accessible.

Offline/story mode is great, no complaints there.

I'm sure they worked hard for multiplayer and hats off for that, but I don't want to be forced to play it. What am I supposed to do, move to another country?

Read my post. I said no multiplayer trophies so people wo't be forced to play if they can't have a decent game.

What? Are you trying to be funny? No he's suggesting they fix this matchmaking **** and stop matching people into games with 200ms latency. It's insane and should never happen.

Are you American by any chance? If so then you can't complain. Matchmaking loves Americans and hates everyone else.

Why? In the majority of cases when people are complaining about matchmaking they are being paired with Americans. Unless you are joining games where every single player has 200ms latency (i.e. all Americans in my case) you can't really complain. It's not like this happens every other game either it happens all the time. I think I've had one match with only Australians and it was awesome.

There are plenty of Aussie players but instead of grouping us together it's splitting us into these ****ty US games.

I am sorry to hear that this is happening to you. I am guessing that it is difficult if not downright impossible to make match making work for everyone. Due to this I would have personally liked to see an offline split screen option, but I guess those are becoming less and less common... they are the Atlantic Express to the world's bathyspheres....

That's right, I'll just work BioShock 2 references in there like natural metaphors.

2K just went down the IW road and put in a rubbish, console-ported matchmaking system that is laggy as hell.

It's awful, I live in Australia and can't find a decent lag free game. It's all Yank servers, and ruins the entire experience.

Didn't they pay any attention to what happened with IW and their IWnet system for MW2? Their system is just as laggy, you would have thought that'd be a lesson for them to steer clear of such a thing as a matchmaking system.

I guess the console players are the biggest customer demographic so it was easier to just replicate a similar thing for consoles thinking we'd be none-the-wiser.

*Sighs* I was so looking forward to some MP Bioshock......

You can do game lists and other things on consoles too. The fact that nigh every console game doesn't have such a feature annoys me greatly.

My performance in MP is great. Little to no lag at most times.

I'm sorry that you're not enjoying the amazing experience but it's really not 2K's fault. The game has some connection problems even for people in the US but it's not 2K's fault that you have a bad connection or live in an area that isn't dense in online gaming population.

As blunt as it may sound, this game is accessible to a lot of people, you just happen to be in the small amount that it isn't accessible to.
