Any chance PC version will get Dedicated Servers?

There's a good Multiplayer hiding in this game, but the lack of a Server Browser and Dedicated Servers is holding it back from being great.

Agreed - it really needs Dedicated Servers!

Yes sir, you should start a petition and pm it to elizabeth. See if they can't patch in dedicated servers. That way no one will have to hack them

I have a feeling that it's not going to happen. A really bad, sinking feeling

I know what you mean. I really wish developers would take advantage of the tools the PC has to offer instead of making the ports force you to buy the console versions.

The tools you speak of came with the Unreal 3 engine package that Epic handed over to 2k. 2k Marin then specifically went about removing said features to implement GFWLive Multiplayer.

    Insanity? Yes.

That's by far the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life.

I can buy the reasoning for SecuROM, but purposefully making the experience lame?

It all seems a little odd to me.
SecuROM: pointless anti-pirating tool that only inconveniences those that actually pay for the game. So, assume the game gets pirated anyway. How do you make sure pirated copies can't mp? By doing this to the mp. It all reeks of paranoia imho. I have yet to research AvP, but if I discover they do dedicated servers, ya'll can say good bye to me (seems to be the only way to get it in the developers' heads that pirate paranoia hurts them and us, not the pirates)

p.s. if this post seems stupid as hell, I've been drinking...and my dad beat me when I was a kid...and I was abused by a mountain goat.

Pirate copies can play MP just fine. GFWL does not stop pirates. GFWL is used when a developer or publisher goes the porting route.

"We're too lazy to do proper MP on the PC let's jus slap this GFWL thing on and hope it works"

    It doesn't.

Dedicated servers and a server browser, otherwise there is no point. Sitting a lobby for ages under the hope that you will get a decent host and actually be able to play is just....

At least the host has the power the terminate the game if the battle isn't swinging his/her way. That's probably a positive if you're the host.

Local hosting should only be used for LAN (which by the way is not available either)

Local hosting does NOT work for online FPS games.
    A MAJOR mistake by 2K.

Please add dedicated servers, otherwise multiplayer will not be playable.
