Loading freezes unless I switch window modes

Running vista x64
dual core AMD
dual nvidia SLI 8500 GTs
2 gigs of ram
nforce 4 / 500 chipset

Got a black screen when I started it until I updated DX10 then once I get to the loading screen it draws the screen very faintly and freezes, found out that if I switch to windowed mode it works then freezes, then I switched back to full screen it worked till I got to the next loading screen and I couldn't switch again... what gives this is aggravating as hell.

This game is a total dissapointment, especially on its release date.
