Game disc does not work

Hi, I picked up my Special Edition today but when I got home and tried installing the game it did not work. No Auto-run is launched and my "My Computer" (not the actual computer) crashes if I try to right click and Explore the disc.
I tried adding the CDkey on Steam and Games on Windows (or w/e its called) sadly neither worked.
Is there anyway to install the game without using my disc since that did not work?
Oh and it seems to be nothing wrong with the drive because it reads other discs just fine.

Make a new folder on your desktop...copy all files ( from disk ) to that folder and install from there...

Sorry I guess I should read the whole post...do you only have 1 DVD drive ?

If you can't open it without Windows crashing...something is really wrong.

Turn off read only?

Best to check the disc on another computer to determine if it's an issue with the disc or the drive itself

Tried on another computer and it was not able to read it at all, can I do anything other than returning it? I would prefer not to since its mail-order.

Maybe you could try updating the firmware for your DVD drive. Should be able to find this information on the computer manufacturers website if you do not know who made your DVD drive.
