    Secrets/easter eggs/ random things... SPOILERS!

I think now is a good time to discuss all the things we've discovered that may be of interest to others.

Obviously don't post errr... obvious things and make sure you say what level you are talking about and spoiler tag the rest...

    Ryan amusements

when you open up the maintenance door that leads back to the big room (where the first gather sequence takes place) after you've collected all the ADAM all the other maintenance doors that were previously locked will now be open. It's a bit out of the way but the extra supplies helped me a lot.

When you first have enough ADAM make sure you only buy incinerate, this way you can enter the kitchen of tomorrow where another gatherers garden awaits with better tonics and an extra gene tonic slot

When you encounter Ryan in the amusement park, there will be a golfclub next to him in 1 certain room (can't really explain where, to vague for me)

Near the start of the level you will come to a room with 2-3 splicers at a broken CoV machine, there is a locked door up ahead when you approach it you hear the shrill scream of a Big Sister, followed by a man saying "no, my little girl! Then you will hear a couple of shots, if you have subtitles on it will be revealed that this man is Mark Meltzer!

Speaking of Mark in Dionysus Park...
I encountered a Rumbler Big Daddy with a Little Sis in Fontaine Futuristics and killed him. Upon searching his corpse, it was labeled "Mark Meltzer"... uh oh... that's not the way I wanted to see the protagonist of SitS meet his end... the Sister wasn't Cindy, though...

    For fans of Mad Men...

No real spoiler here, just something I found hilarious.

In the hallway right after the Adonis Resort lobby (where you have your first little tiff with Big Sister) there's an advertisement poster immediately to your left, endorsing a product called the Happy Handmaid.

It's billed as a massager, but there are a few little hints as to its actual purpose: "Three massage settings and a gentle warming effect leave the skin gently flushed and feeling youthful. A discreet companion to end your stressful day."

It's marketed specifically for women, and mentions the absence of a lady's husband "who's always working in the office". The device is shaped like, uh... let's say, an eggplant. I expect anyone who's seen the Mad Men episode from Season One with the "Electrosizer" (Ep. 11, "Indian Summer") will get the joke.

For anyone who still doesn't get it, I'll leave you with this movie quote from Fight Club, spoken by the Lost Baggage Claims guy (WARNING, THE FOLLOWING IS FOR MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY): "It's a ☺☺☺☺☺."

    Mad Men Reference!

    Great call!

I TOTALLY know what you're talking about.

I always explain Bioshock as Mad Men meets The Shining meets The Titanic meets old school sci fi horror classicks!

In Fontaine's Office there's a huge portrait of Frank, a woman and a little boy. I'm a bit confused on who they were as in BS1 he said "Thinkn' of starting a family- plays well with the saps." I guess it could be Tenenbaum and Jack, but why would he have a portrait done of his secret weapon? I wondered if it could have been Frank's family (unlikely) and as he got older took after his dad or a fictional family made up to seem more of a family guy and gain sympathy for the masses?

I know right? I kinda doubt it... but it would just make Rapture seem even crazier.

In Fontaine Futuristics, go to the second story and enter the offices named "Marketing Aministration". On the right side of this room there will be a door that you need to shoot with Electobolt to open. Inside is your prise, the Teleportation Plasmid! But wait... don't even get to use it. What a shame..

However if you do decide to follow it as it teleports all around the building, it will lead you to an area where you can get a tonic (can't remember which).

The Plasmid, when you go to pick it up it teleports to different areas around the building. So you never get to use it.

in the Fishbowl Diner, there is a cat in one of the corners next to a box of ammo and a first aid or something...If you shoot the cat, blood and green looking acid comes out...It makes a squishy sound.

IN Siren Alley I think Outside the Door to the Pearl, there is a picture of Steinman when he has the three bodies over him in medical.

Ryan Amusements... I was heading for the restaurant, and a golf ball comes rolling out of a hallway. Then a thug splicer with a golf club comes out of the hallway.

    Found a HITMAN reference:

In paupers drop you have to get the clinic's code which is 0047 (agent 47)

but the audio diary about that code is by a man called tobias rieper which was the false name used for agent 47 in all the hitman games

    well done 2k!

There is. You pick up golf club, which is located in the corner, with telekinesis. You hurl it at Andrew Ryan's statue head. After doing so, you get the 9-Irony achievement.

A little trivia on the cats you guys keep seeing, in the bioshock 1 artbook Ken Levine (in the thanks to or acknowledgements section) talks about one the artists who made dead cats in pretty much every room in Rapture, Ken especially liked the humor in Telekinising a cat into a Splicer hehehe

In Siren Alley, above one of the pumping room altars, is a couple of pictures, side by side, of a first-person view of Jack injecting himself with Eve.

Also, I managed to follow the mysterious teleportation Plasmid in Futuristics. The final time you grab it after about 3 or 4 times, it teleports you to a number of different scenes, one in which you can grab a Tonic, and one which shows you a door code to an area around the back of the sort of arena where Alex plays the host - in this space is a very satisfying audio-diary.

Oh no, it was quite dead, though it was frozen in a standing position, I found it perculiar that this cat was named though.

I'm trying to better document the "Unstable Teleport Plasmid" on the BioShock Wiki, btw.

    I Adonis Luxury Resort you see a portrait that says "Rapture's Best and Brightest" which has from left to right;

    Bridgette Tenebaum
? (Either Sander Cohen or J. Steinman, not to sure)
    Gil Alexnader
    Andrew Ryan
    Sophia Lamb
    Yi Suchong

    I thought it was awesome
