Thread: (PC) No walk option again?

    (PC) No walk option again?

Jesus.. after all the fuss PC gamers kicked up about not having a simple walk toggle button implemented in the game for Bioshock 1, and then it finally being patched in a later version of the game - they've gone and done the same stupid thing and completely neglected to include such a simple option for Bioshock 2?

    crappy console ports much?

I'll be more annoyed if they use that same HUD stretching method the first game used.

You did. You'd press Ctrl to make the speed lower, so you wouldn't go so fast.

Uh... because it feels silly when you're constantly running for no apparent reason? to slow down and admire the scenes rather than rushing through them? for immersion? many reasons. Only console noobs wouldn't notice/care about such a thing, but the fact that it isn't implemented for PC users is just plain laziness on behalf of the devs (or whoever ported it from the console version)

I love how some PC gamers think because they play on a PC they are the royalty of gaming.

It's more the fact that PC gamers are sick of getting lazily-made console ports.

Had no Idea I was a console noob, thanks
The walk thing just doesn't matter to me, I'm content with stopping for a sec to take a look at things

    Why would you say that?
It's the complete opposite of what I want you to say...
    ( sigh )try again

yeah if I want to admire the scenery I'll stop and take my time, I don't remember ever wishing that I could do so at a casual stroll.

  13. lol you know whats funny? (im a console user, 360, by the way) the developers have to make the game on the COMPUTOR first, then implement it to the Consoles. they just care about us more (im kidding, they care about all ports)

I doubt everyone was shouting "OH MY GOD GUYS DONT FORGET THE WALK OPTION" when putting much more time into things that really matter, the game can't be tailored to absolutely everyone's individual wants, you just gotta deal with it

I have to admit, in the list of atrocities commited in PC ports, this is a fairly small complaint. The walk speed is slower anyway, being a Big Daddy and all.

Another way to admire the scene is to stop moving. As in standing still and looking around. You might hear more when you stand still to take in all the ambient noise.

    I like to run.

Oh well. I'll be happy. Sorry for those who won't be.

And sorry to hear it's not a toggle option, if that's the case - I agree that it definitely should be.

Make your own damn product then. As a PC gamer I must say you disgrace us all with your whining.

What's annoying is that it was implemented in Bioshock 1 after a patch, after it was requested by many people, but now for some reason it's gone again. Why? who knows.

Can you for actually playing a game? If so it would kinda defeat the purpose of console gaming haha. It's nice to sit back with a controller and enjoy

^ agreed. I can understand if there was no run option, but no walking?! Really. And if they patched it for BS1 maybe they will patch it for BS2, although one would think that if you had to patch it for the first game, than why not just include it in the 2nd...who knows? All I can say is that this 1 feature missing is not going to stop me from enjoying the game in the slightest

This adapter makes it so you can use one. I think there is a PS3 one also. Pricey though.

Isn't that just for typing text though? I know MS released a minikeyboard for the controller.

Not surprising is it when they cannot even be bothered to include an option for all the PC gamepad player(s) who use HDTV's!

I guess the bright spark who thought it would be a good idea to redo the UI for mouse/kb only was too busy with that to consider a walk option..........

What's worse is taking a shot at the developers for it when they're making such an amazing game.. I'd say have some respect, instead of saying "Lazy blah blah" "Can't be bothered" "Blah Blah terrible end of the world"

Eh, there's a small percentage that likes to be heard. Just look at that DRM thread. Believe me, the majority is much more quiet.

They do. Look at the screenies. Aim reticule is still an oval. Oval shaped plasmids etc. etc.

    They have no *&)*& clue.

I pointed this out a few weeks ago.

Not really, it is we just hate how devs and pubs ignore the PC entirely or give us a crappy console port not optimized for our platform and than make rediculous comments that pc gaming is dieing

I really hate to use meme's but this just calls for 1

    QQ more.. seriously.

No walk? Stop when running then to look around. Wow, hard option there.
Lazy developers? Lol, please do make a game like Bioshock 2 completely from scratch, and don't forget the smallest thing, or there will be a forumuser crying for it (sounds familiar?)

When there could be topics about the game, fun things we found, or bugs to report that actually matter. Instead, this arises. Please let some Big Daddy drill this topic into it's grave.
