Anybody getting really bad motion sickness?

I never had this before while playing a videogame, but when I play Bioshock, I'm getting really ill while playing. I picked up the game today and played for an hour or so, but had to quit because I was getting sick. I remember when Half Life 2 came out and read posts about some gamers getting sick and thought it was bull crap. I have never had a game make me so ill from playing.

For some reason, I think the perspective is messed up. It almost feels like it's too zoomed in. I have the xbox 360 version and playing it on my 32 inch widescreen LCD. Anybody else having issues while playing?

PC Zone reported that this game caused one of their reviewers to get very bad motion sickness, so your not alone it would seem.

What reso are you running the game on? You could try fiddling with the settings and see if it helps.

It's not the game, you're ill.

You're correct, it is too zoomed in. See, they went out and lied, and said the game support widescreen. It doesn't. It's vert-. Enjoy your 2-activation only, non-antialiased, non-widescreen supported, 15-hours-not-25 game.

Overhype kills. Try taking it back to the store :P.

I agree. No video game has ever made me even a little bit sick.

It is a problem with how they made the game 'widescreen'. It just lops the top and bottom off of a 4:3. The Field of View is also the 4:3 fov. I'm sure they will fix this soon. I'm lucky I have an iron stomach

Another thing to do is make sure you aren't sitting right in front of the screen. Make sure there is something in the background that isn't the LCD that you can focus on. One of my friends has to sit pretty far back, or else he gets sick.

Stick to RPGs and stay away from roller coasters. Seriously, though, this whole thing has gotten way more attention than it should have. I'm just waiting for the first post trying to use Bioshock's tiny zoom issue as a defense for a crime.

I didn't mean to kill her... It was just that damn slight Bioshock zoom. It drove me temporarily insane.

Well, that and the fact that she was a little girl with an insulin problem and a needle in her arm but I still blame it on Bioshock and the zoom!

I wish my pc could keep up with todays games, but sadly it doesn't. So i purchased it for my 360 and running the game at 1360x768 (well thats what I have my console set at currently). It seems like widescreen isn't working all to well because it seems to be cropped. Also, it seems like widescreen support isn't working too well.

I'm going to try to run the game in a non widescreen format to check if I still get ill.

Yes. This game was overhyped just like Blasto . These are small technical issues that can and probably will be sorted out in one or two patches.

But in your mind, the playstation defense force review was right. 5/10. Have fun not enjoying an amazing game.

If it's showing in widescreen and it's not stretched, then it's "working." Just not the way you want it to.

Indeed, im not familiar with the set up of the 360 system but try changing the aspect ratio or the equivalent. Or, as you said try it without the wide screen until its sorted.

Man, I can play any other fps with no issues what so ever. Hell, I marathoned gears of war for a good 5 or so hours with no issues. I think this widescreen nonsense is really making the stomach churn when I play.

Anybody else find it ironic that in a game where you have the ability to wrench a young girl to death it's the slight zooming that's got people upset?

Just kidding - Kill those kids!

The widescreen mode sux a$$. I mean, if I wanted to get a telescope, set it up on a tripod and look through one hole with one eye and view the game in a half-baked fashion, then I would go ahead and buy a telescope. But now I don't have to do that, I can just buy Bioshock (I mean, at least we have an option now!).

I am now using the new DVD as a coaster to put my mug on hoping I don't spill coffee on it incase a patch is released so I can play the game properly.

They better release a patch soon as I am terrible at not spilling coffee on coasters!! And if there's no patch released and I want to return the game to get my $$ back they probably wouldn't do the refund because of the coffee on the disk!! But they should refund even with the Coffee stain because Irrational/2K LIED about wide-screen support.

Honestly, the testing was probably only done on 14 inch CRT monitors with burn-in because no screen savers were swithed on!!

Ya no doubt, going to try out 4:3 ratio to see if it makes things better..

    Great game thus far though.

Well, good news. I hooked up my 19 inch 4:3 Sony and been playing for about 2 hours. Didn't get motion sickness once!

2K fix the aspect ratio please so I can enjoy this on my 32" lcd FFS.
