Jack was conditioned since he was born to take down Ryan, that would obviously mean being more powerful that just about anything else that can be found in Rapture during Bioshock 1.
Because the splicers don't have big enough pockets and they don't have auto aim enabled.
DUH.
No seriously, I'm not quite sure of Jack's exact age but according to the logs at around one year he was 80 something pounds... which mean he's probably an adolescent at most but the size of a man. He's got the strength of a grown man with the flexibility and endurance of a child.

Jack is just genetically superior.
Believe me, on Hard difficulty, the first few levels are VERY hard for the unprepared. But then you begin getting bonuses the Splicers don't: gene tonics, more liberal use of Plasmids, human strategy, better weapons, research bonuses, ammo types, hacked items, med kits....
Sanity is its own advantage. Being specificially bred to kick splicer cojones also helps.

Jack was specially developed to work with the plasmids probably, and also at the time of the game his is only four years old
