    Sound stops functioning.

Ok if theres another thread about this I'm sorry, seems like theres enough problems to deal with as it is lol...

Anyway my issue is: Whenever the game loads a new area my in-game sound stops playing entirely and I have to restart the game in order to fix it. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but I've already tried reinstalling my sound drivers and they're clearly not at fault cause I've tested them on A LOT of games with no issues whatsoever. My audio is also running with Reverb and full EAX in 7.1 on a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. Thanks in advance.

Otherwise everything else runs great ^_^ love the game but it's definitely a nasty problem to be having so much trouble with sound especially with how beautifully done it is

Oh I'd also like to note that I never had this problem on the demo if that helps.

Try running the game in XP compatibility mode. That is the only way I get sound at ALL (and it's flawless). I hope that helps you. Tell me if it does.

same problem with a sound blaster audigy 2 zs. Sound flakes out constantly for any reason and sometimes completely. Demo worked fine for me as well. Only software I can get on my system to make my sound fail is bioshock. Will try the compatibility mode thing.

Well I just ran into a sound glitch. Dunno what happened, but the sound just went mute for about a minute. I turned my speakers up to see if the volume had just changed, then forgot to turn them down. When the audio came back in, I just about flew across the room

I have the same problem, game works fine for a while then when loading a level the sound stop working? I think it may have to do with the EAX setting I checked it off and I didn't seem to have the problem. I'll do some more testing.
btw: I have an Audigy 2 w/latest drivers.

Running in xp compatibility mode fixed the sound failing and sounding scratching and crap during the level perfectly. I now have the same problem as the author of the thread. Sound fails on every new load point. Have to go to menu and load game to make it work again. Looks like there is a problem with sound blaster audigy 2 zs cards as I have seen several post about this with the card being the common factor. Is it not supported?

Try using the onboard audio on your mobo . That actually has worked for me before.

Having the same issue with an Audigy 2 Platinum on XP.
Updating my drivers ATM to see if that resolves it for me, but maybe there's just no love for the Audigy 2 owners out there.

Yuck, I'll pass on the onboard audio >_< besides the plugs arent compatible with my speakers anyway. I'm using Windows XP btw not Vista.
