I have not preordered this game yet. the closest Gamestop is a good distance away from me. I was hoping that the preorder characters would be on a card placed in the game's case, and I could go in on the 9th pickup a game and still be able to get the preorder bonus, so does anyone know if the preorder bonus will be via separate card, or one found within the game's case, and if I can get the preorder bonus without preordering?
It will most likely be a separate card.
I recommend that you go and pre-order it, if you want the pre-order bonus that much. I doubt that they'll just hand it out to people who haven't pre-ordered.
I didn't preorder. but bought the day it came out Batman,Borderlands, and Ghostbusters. All 3 games had a card in the game's case so I think it's the first shipment that get's the codes but not sure
They will only hand out the codes to those who pre-ordered it.

well they might add them as add on content later you never know but i say you sholud pre order befor its to late
Unless you actually know someone there they won't hand them off to people who didn't preorder so I would definitely go and do that.
I'm pretty much 100% positive it's going to be a seperate card, because when you order it online they give you a code via mail. It's probably going to work like Halo 3: ODST.
I know this because when halo 3 odst came out i didnt pre order it but i saw extra pre order copies on the counter it was like 5-6 bucks extra.

I'm pretty sure Elizabeth said that the preorder card will be inside of the game case but don't hold me to that.
Everytime I have ever pre-ordered from EB the bonus has always been on a seperate card from the game. I always confirm beforehand that their offering the bonus then make 100% sure they give it to me on reservation or on pickup. I'll be surprised if its packaged with my special edition copy. Just wait, I'll get home and it won't be inside then I'll go back and they will tell me sorry but its supposed too be inside. I worry about these things.
Hey guys, just called the Gamestop store I preordered at and they said what will probably happen is that they give us the multiplayer character code on a separate card or that the code itself will come in the box with the game.
it says right on the website that the code comes on a preorder card, not with the game. I wouldn't wait if I were you, my Ebgames has run out of stuff like that before. I received the preorder card when I put down my deposit a week ago.
I wont be getting the bonus as I know I wont be playing them, no loss since their not really an actual part of the Bioshock universe, rather just an added one.
i am 100% sure it's on a separate card. i work at gamestop, and they're marked as an item in our system, like all other separately mailed items are.
They're as fully fleshed out as any of the other multiplayer characters - audio diaries, background, etc. etc.
I think it depends on the store. My gamestop always has it in the case and sometimes the only copies they have come with the code so they give you the code even if you didn't pre-order. Happened to me with a bunch of games including Assassin's Creed 2 (great game by the way
To my knowledge, Gamestop has never enclosed preorder bonus items in the case of the game. I can't imagine why Bioshock 2's code would be any different.

Yeah, they actually do it quite a bit. Borderlands and Assassin's Creed 2 are two recent examples.
Don't Forget Left 4 Dead 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum. Point being, they are very good at including the bonus in a safe and secure place (the game box itself).
a lot of the time the pre-order bonuses are in-box, included with the first shipment of games only. but this time, i am 100% sure, they're a stand alone item we'll be handing out.

I was thinking of preordering the game online at gamestop.com, and choosing the store for pickup. my only concern with this is the rules state
" Required at Time of Pickup
For identification purposes at the time of pickup, please bring a copy of your order confirmation page or email and a valid driver's license or other government-issued identification."
I don't have a printer, so would I be able to just go in with my license and card I used via the website and be able to do it that way?
they can't tell what card you used online when you bring it in. the pre-order sits in the system like any other pre-order, the only difference is the "paid" amount is at zero. you give your cc info when you order it online but it doesn't actually charge it, when you come into the store is when we charge you. i would call the individual gamestop and tell them the scenario (no printer). and ask if bringing JUST an ID would be alright. i don't see why it wouldn't, i never look at the confirmation sheet. just the ID, and i make sure the phone number matches, too.
There might be a difference on how you get the pre-order bonuses depending on where your gamestop is located. For the past 6 months any games I have preordered and purchased at gamestop have had the pre-order bonus content inside the case. Before that it was a card the clerck would just hand you. I know some areas that still give out the cards. Guess it depends on what factory your games and cases are being assembled.
I've gotten bonuses from Gamestop several times and they are always on a card they hand you with the game. Sometimes I have gotten the 'midnight only' card the next day just by asking. It just depends on the store and the quantity of cards they have. If they gave the store more cards than preorders than you can probably snag one, otherwise preorder is the only way, or buying one for $10 later on EBay.
Check it out I got my card today. I pre-ordered a month ago but went and checked with them today and I got it! Maybe this will end some of this.

Of course it does, it has a scratch surface with the code. it says too go on Xbox live and do it, not ingame. I haven't tried it, not going to till I get the game I think.

I showed them my pre-order receipt and they gave it too me. They recorded that they gave me the bonus on the receipt. Some stores are obviously giving them out on deposit. The one I went too didn't have them yet when I pre-ordered and I was getting worried about them running out so I went and checked.

I am going to preorder the game after work today. I am up in the air right now. I am torn between preordering at toysrus, or gamestop. I am leaning towars toysrus at the moment. the free action figures you get seem to good to pass up.
