    Question Weak wepons?

I've been watching some multiplayer vids and it looks like the weapons take a while to kill the player, it takes two grenade launcher shots and a whole lot of tommy gun ammo. It doesn't look like the plasmids do much either. I don't know much about the game, maybe they made it so you would HAVE to use them both at the same time to be a threat to the other team.

    Welcome to the forums

    On the topic:
Yeah it does seem that way. It looks like plasmids dont do anything. Whenever somebody hits someone with winterblast the person that got blasted keeps moving! It's really weird
I saw a video where a guy was firing at an enemy with his tommy gun at head level. It tooks AGES for the enemy to die...

Winterblast doesn't freeze enemies like in the SP, it just slows them. This for balancing reasons.

About the time to take down someone: it indeed seems to take longer to kill someone then in most multiplayer games, since you have more health.

Well, everything got changed for balance and gameplay reasons. Otherwise, Winter Blast would just be a more powerful version of Electro Bolt, people would spam Incinerate! and everyone would have the Grenade Launcher.

Besides that, I think the Multiplayer team wanted to make the game less twitchy than other multiplayer games (like the CoD series) in favor of strategy.

its more of an arcade game which promotes skill on console. Also CoD MW2 is not twitchy. Quake 3 and CS 1.6 is twitchy. No console games are twitchy. Also plasmids will definatly have an effect. Also i bet 8 tommy gun bullets will kill someone. The people in the video just suck and cant control the recoil. Also thank god grenade launchers take 2 shots or they would be ridicolously overpowered.

This isnt another form of CoD...and there are only 10 people in one match. If it was 30 people per match, then I think they would make it easier to kill people...but since not, it is what it is...

Going back to the fact that there are only 10 people at the MAX in a match it makes sense. BS2 multiplayer is based upon strategy more than how fast your reflexes are. I am personally glad it takes longer to kill people, because it will make battles more epic, and you won't die because of stupid things like campers. Let me tell you how much I hate...NO DESPISE those campers! In COD they camp around with things like shottys and SMGs, and in other games too. I can't possibly tell you how happy having more health makes me, and other people like me! I will also say that not having to worry about a "1 hit noob tube" makes me very happy. Two shots at least is enough. For all of you people who complain about health I recommend using Winter Blast (because it decreases defense) ,Incinerate, the shotgun, and crossbow.

I agree with you , sir . Longer battles sounds also awsome to me , maybe it would require more tactics ? And if the gameplay is unique and fun to play then thats enough for me .

MW2 is super twitchy. It's "he who sees first kills first" and while not necessarily bad design, it doesn't behoove itself to much strategy other than "walk softly and carry a big stick."

BioShock's multiplayer is probably designed to cultivate more epic struggles, an initiative I wholeheartedly support. Less twitch the better, I say!

Yea, but its not twitchy. CS 1.6 is twitchy. When you have see first kills first i dont know what to call that when you have no chance to fight back. Cs 1.6 you can which is why think of it as twitchy

I disagree and I guess it's a matter of personal opinion. I think that if you are jerking around trying to get a bead on a target you just spotted, then you're twitching.

NOTICE: I do agree, however, that CS 1.6 is twitchy.

CS:S is pretty twitchy I'd have to agree. People getting headshots across the map with a Desert Eagel??? That's just not right

    1. First you have to take into consideration that the vast majority of people who usually get to play games early suck balls at them, especially when you talk about FPS. With a skilled player, you could see much quicker kills.

    2. This game isn't going to be like CoD in terms of player health. It's going to be an arcade shooter just like the first. It's not so much that the weapons are weak, but that players' default health is higher.

    Thank god for that!
