Civilization 5 - will it include Games for Windows LIVE?

I know that the games hasnīt been announced yet, but given the fact that Firaxis has been transformed to a Civilization factory since they were bought by 2k, its bound to be announced sooner than later.

Now, even so, the plans for the game are of course nowhere finished, perhaps not even started on.

But I would like to know if 2k plans to implement Games for Windows LIVE in all of their future PC games, like Capcom for example obiously does, or if itīs something that is decided for each game if GfWL fits with it.

I know one thing for sure, I won't buy this game if it comes with GFWL. Worst thing every, and it won't stop piracy.

With the extensive tool set included with the game I would say no.

My brain would explode as it would be simultaneously pulled towards the irresistible game of Civ 5 and repulsed just as much by the use of GFWL.

It's not meant to stop piracy. It's more or less the equivalent of Gamespy - a service which provides multiplayer and achievements.

I actually hope it ships with GFWL, I need another Civ game on my Live! profile, I need some achievements I can sink my teeth into.

I am glad it wont use GFWL (it will use Steam) because GFWL support only 26 countries. Steam works everywhere.
