    Delta's Defensive Problem

Well I just finished watching some Bioshock 2 videos for the hundreth time and it finally dawned on me that the Big sisters are going to be a major threat in the game.

Now, I have not seen any type of defensive plasmids that might help to protect us, just robots and other(Controlled) splicers. You also have the trip rivets, but I really don't think they will do much to her.......She's to fast for the cyclone trap too.....

So how do you guys think we can take her down? Plamsids/weapons?

Should we just run and try to survive?

lay down several trap rivets in random clusters followed by a few mini turrets. equip rocket spears and heavy rivets, I hope to have security command fully upgraded as soon as possible so when she arrives I tag her with it.
Hopefully she'll be preoccupied enough with with my turrets and bots, whilst sustaining damage from the trap rivets so that I can focus on keeping my distance, hitting her with a few oil barrels and lighting her up with incinerate.

by this point she should have half health but all my defenses will be exhausted, I take out good old electro-bolt and the drill and one-two punch her with the drill dash until she in bad enough condition to finish off with a rocket spear to the face and a few heavy rivets.

    how's that?

Sounds like a pretty sure fire method.

I'll be using a somewhat similar technique.

Good ideas Panda. I know we will have somewhat of a warning before she shows, but do you think it will be enough to time to hack and setup all of those traps?

I can't wait unitl I hear that first screech from the Big sister. I can't even imagine how panicked i'm going to get!...The adrenaline is going to be free flowing baby.....lolz

I think I'm going to try and stay behind as much cover as possible while I throw everythin i have at her.

The shotgun still has electric buck, right? If so, I'll be using that along with any hacked security bots. I might also set a perimeter with flaming cyclone traps. Oh, and I'll finish her off with the drill.

Well I have watched many vids and in some she seems tough as nails and in other vids she is so weak and breakable. I will have to go with the flow on this game and "Shoot first, Shoot often, Shoot again and when nothing is left then you can ask questions."

No, the three ammo types are 00 buck, solid slug and phosphorus buck.
The third upgrade for the shotgun is a Tesla coil with a chance to stun enemies.

that's the beauty of fully upgraded security command, all you have to to is tag her and a security bot appears there's no hacking involved and the mi9ni turrets are deployed using the hack tool.

I'm really looking forward to passive/preemptive combat because it wasn't really accommodated for in bs1. in bs2 there's scout, Hypnotize, security command, plasmid trap, decoy, trap rivets, trap spears, rocket spears, hack darts and mini turrets all of which seem to be designed solely for the purpose of passive combat. "control the battle field, own the battlefield"

I bet you'll find this a bit tricky to pull off... nice strategy though!

If your worried about her getting on you just bring out the thing that puts them on ice (literally). Good ol' winter blast (especially fully upgraded) should do the trick very nice. Don't forget your good ol' electric buck as well! I have multiple strategies for killing her, but this is just if she gets a little too close.

I honestly couldn't agree with you more. I truly loved setting up my own playing field in BS1, and now in BS2 it will be even better! I agree that the options were limited, but there isn't anything quite like making splicers play on your terms.

You just responded to an 8 month old thread, which didn't belong in the multiplayer area anyway.

    Congratulations!

What I discovered about dealing with Big Sisters is they always go for your 'hired' help first. So, following 'Woody, the unexceptional gamer's' advice I try to control the engagement. I put the little sister in the hidey hole and run for an area where I have a hacked turret. Then I throw down a couple of mini - turrets. I shoot traps in the areas where I think she is coming from and get ready! When I first started dealing with Big Sisters i would face them when I was in a corner or confined area and it never ended up well for me. Now, I want room to strafe. So, the BS shows up she gets hit with some traps and starts attacking my security bots and turrets. Meanwhile I am hitting her with all I got, well not all I don't want the frag grenades to damage my team so I hold off on that. This strategy serves me well. Control the engagement you all!
