Smile The Civilians reaction in Empire Bay

As you know in Mafia 2, Civilians roles will play a big part in the gameplay.
I hope that in Mafia 2 when you do something such as bump into someone, steal a car or someones' car, shoot someone, or even have Vito make a random comment to a civilian, that the civilian will act realistic to the situation.

I am sure if you bump into someone they will reply, im worried that if you steal a car in a public street, some civilians will do nothing and be in LA LA land, hopefully the civilian will run off and scream help or whatever, than again random people on the street didn't care, they said "it's not my problem". It wouldn't be wise if the civilian was right in front of you and screamed help.

And as I noticed in the GDS video when Vito is in an Alley, two muggers try to rob Vito, but Vito pulls out a gun and points it at the muggers and the muggers run away(pretty realistic). But how come the police officer didn't come running up when the muggers were pointing a knife at you until Vito pulled out his gun.
Mabe the officer was just walking by, but he never chased the muggers.
    What do you guys think?

the muggers and the cop is a scripted event and we will all face the exact same situation in the game.

It's actually pretty common that many people do nothing when they see crimes being commited. They dont want to be involved or risk getting hurt.

Pretty wierd that you guys wouldnt do anything, at least say something or call the police directly araund the corner or of course, beat the **** out of the car thief :P
I would like to see all those reactions in MAFIA II.

Well back then their was no "good samaritan law" I do not like the "good samaritan law"
It's my choice if I want to try to stop a crime or put my life in danger. That's the polices job. I don't want to die to try to stop the criminal.

Now if I see something really bad than I will call the cops, otherwise I will ignore it and get on with my life. Now if that person is trying to break into my car I'll give that theif a good beating. Some people have gun licences so they can keep a small pistol in their pocket in case someone tries to mug them ect. What do you guys think?

when you carjack someone in gta4, they're always like "oh...oh no..." or they dont even say anything (like it doesnt even matter to them that they're getting robbed), instead of yelling out something like "get the f*ck away! what are you doing! help!".....you know, they dont act realistically to whats happening to them.

Well, during its time I think Mafia 1 had better civilian reactions than some other similar games. When you were about to run someone over, they yelled and moved out of the way. In GTA III or GTA: VC, I don't remember them even noticing you. In Godfather I, I don't even think you could drive on the curb? (I don't really remember, been a little while since I played it). GTA 4 had some pretty impressive character reactions. They jumped out of the way if you weren't driving too fast to run them over and they shouted at you.

What I liked about Mafia 1, was that sometimes a civilian whose car you were taking had a firearm or a bat on them. Then after you threw them out, they'd get up and begin to attack you. I hope that if you steal someone's car and they're near it, they'll react unlike the scripted events like when you were stealing the cars Lucas recommended to you in the first game and the guards would attack you.

I was replaying Assasssin's Creed II and when I was freerunning up buildings and such, the civilians would comment say "he will get hurt" or "seems faster than walk", something along those lines. And it made me think if Vito did anything that wasn't (a Creed term here) - socially acceptable- would the civilians respond? My first assumption is yes what do you guys think?

In the GDS video you see people reacting when police are chasing you. And(Amazing) when you are going through a one way road tunnel there is a truck right in front of Vito blocking him. And Vito keeps honking and eventually the truck backs up.

    So my Answer is Yes!
