    Post Bioshock Poetry

I rode in the bathysphere down

In the ocean below, where I found

    A city, aquatic

    And Splicers, psychotic

I think that I'd rather have drowned.

Atlas seemed such a nice guy.

He said we'd escape (at least try).

    I followed him blindly

As he said "Would you kindly?"

But I don't trust this man, wonder why...

Down the hole I followed the hare

Where children with little feet bare

    Ran around singing

    To big daddy's clinging

They stole adam from corpses, I swear!

    Rapture Requiem

    Would you kindly take the
    time and come under the
    ocean, to a city where
    dreams come true.
    Would you kindly join
    the world of rapture, as
    everything falls apart. Sit back
    during the ADAM rush, and
    watch the city crumble.
    Would you kindly join our
    dystopia, and serve under a
    man named Atlas in
    the revolution? The pipes
    burst and buildings fall,
    while babies are strangled
    in their cribs.
    Would you kindly kill
    your Little Sister and harvest
    everything inside?
    Mr. Bubbles wandering around,
    drilling through living tissue
    to protect her.
    Watch the chaos unfold and
    the insanity take hold.
    Would you kindly
    listen to everything
    that's taking place?
    A man chooses,
    a slave obeys.

    Sea of Lost Dreams

A Sea of Dreams had once waited for
my arrival, six miles beneath the surface world
that I had once known so well. A descent that would take
minutes, a struggle that would last months.
The dampness of the hallways, the constant
sound of running water, trapped in a reverse fish-tank
where the marine life is looking in on us
for a change. It appears that the walls are closing in
as the dead start to accumulate, the dripping of the water
and the bursting of the pipes are the
    only sounds to be heard.
Broken hallways and flooded corridors are all
that await me now at the bottom of that
    long shaft into the city. A once majestic tapestry;
demolished by the fabric from which it was woven.
One by one the lights in the buildings fade as
    the occupants slowly suffocate each
other in their claustrophic rage; perhaps the
sound of the sea had driven them mad.
The cracks in the glass represent the end of our
time here, not only in this city but on this planet, as
Atlas was crushed by the Heaven's on his shoulders, we too
shall be crushed by the Ocean on ours,
as our days of Rapture fade to dust. Perhaps it was
a fault of our own...our vanity, our pride, that destroyed us. It
was we who had once said,
"No Gods or Kings, Only Man", and not even God
    can save us now.
What became of our Sea of Dreams?

    1:

A city beneath the ocean's deep
A promise not even Andrew Ryan could keep
    His dream slowly died
    and so did his pride
And then the city was weak

    2:

Rapture has gone to hell, The city we know and love.
Rapture has gone to hell and many want to go above.
Rapture has gone to hell and not many people care.
Rapture has gone to hell Splicers confront me if you dare!

    3:

The children roam the halls of this Underwater hell.
The children roam the halls their tunes like clinking clanking bells.
The children roam the halls shadowed by monstrosities of lore.
The children roam the halls said to open human's next evolutionary door.
The children roam the halls targeted by the mentally unstable.
But with that Big Daddy there impossibility is enabled!

I stare in the mirror, a girl

Red hair with no natural curl

    But Steinman did promise

    I'm no doubting Thomas

Now when you see me, you'll hurl!

Idiot, you created this place to flee from the talons of
    Capitalism, socialism, communism,
But in your retreat you fell into the pit of
    Something far worse,
    Far more poisonous.
    Your society was never perfect,
    It never could have been,
For in the pursuit of perfection, only the opposite
    Can ever be obtained.
You said that you rejected those ideas,
But in doing so, did you accept ideas
    That threatened and changed
    What us humans truly are.
ADAM, is that what they called it?
    Your people-turned-monsters
    Of this undersea prison.
So very ironic, its complementary element EVE,
For this place is no Eden.

    You see my pain
    You see my anguish
    You see my hate
    You see my talent
    You see my money
    You see my wisdom
    But you don't see me.
You only see the rabbit behind the mask

The city was turning to rubble

And I knew I had run into trouble

    When some Little Sister

    Screamed "Stay away, mister!"

And I got beat up by Mr. Bubbles.

Sorry if this isnt relevant... but this is one of my favourite audio diaries from bioshock and its a poem (sorta) ...

The Wild Bunny by Sander Cohen

I want to take the ears off but I can't!
I hop and when I hop I never get off the ground.
It's my curse, my eternal curse!
I want to take the ears off but I can't!
    It's my curse!
    Its my F***ing Curse!
I WANT TO TAKE THE EARS OFF!
    PLEASE! TAKE THEM OFF!!
    PLEASE!!

I went to the city of Rapture

Where I tried to avoid Splicer capture.

    When Big Daddy appeared

    My underpants smeared.

I was scared, and my pants filled with crapture.

    TELEKINESIS makes things Zoom!
    TARGET Dummy, CyCLONE TRAP!
Unleash the ice of WINTER BLAST!
    INCINERATE will make you warm
as you release an INSECT SWARM.
    ENRAGE a useless bloody fool

Ahhh, brilliantly done! I greatly enjoyed this one and it made me giggle

Slight suggestion for the flow though:

    ENRAGE a useless bloody fool
and make an enemy your useful tool
    The Possibilities are quite rife.........
    for VARIETY'S the SPLICE
    of LIFE

    -----------

Just a personal edit I would make is to add those two words to keep the flow going with the syllables. Don't know why, but to me it doesn't sound right without a two syllable word in the place of useful, and one syllable in place of quite. <.<

I'm keeping myself in the dark in all regards until the game comes out. I know nothing about characters, plot, weapons, anything, unless I read it in Game Informer in the last month or so.

    we sit and shiver

    we sit and wait

    for someone to come down

so we can decide their fate

adam is short, adam is dry

but down the hall, i hear a little sis cry

i walk up so quiet, as not to give it away

what i am now planning, to so violently take

i strike her down, strike her so madly

then i feel a surge, from the drill of a big daddy

    In Rapture; a huge persona
    A population vast and wide
Lift up the lid or ocean
    And see who dwell inside

    Andrew Ryan; objectivist
    Whose city was best hidden
To hide the great from parasites
    He was corrupt; total, ridden

    Atlas who was widely know
As a hero to one and all
    He toiled to overthrow
    Though there was a flaw...

    Doctor B. Tenenbaum
    The Little Sister Creator
Was wicked yet had a change of heart
    Played a greater role later

    Chinese born Yi Suchong
    Plasmid extrodinaire
Who work for the greatest price
And 'came implaled in his lair

    The plastic surgeon; J. Steinman
    Medical Pavilion was his domane
    Pratted on to Aphrodite
    His motives; inhumane

    Peach Wilkins; the smuggler
    Paranoid through and through
    Wanted photos to survive
    Until he had met you!

    Sander Cohen; artist
    Though others say the anti
His quadtych he did dwell upon
    With lingering sanity

    Julie Langford, oh how sad
    She met a morbid end
    A botanist who also turned
To be quiet a useful friend

    Sullivan; a Ryanist
    Who worked on Ryan's side
    After the bump on Cullpepper
    Life; he could not abide

    Diane McClintock; oh no
Who change sides in the war
Thought Atlas was a man of truth
'Till her blood dripped on the floor

    Kyburz was a genius
    A secret he had hidden
A device to help the incline
    To get Andrew Ryan ridden

    And what about Bioshock 2?
    Sinclair, Lamb and Wales
I figure we have to wait
    To listen to their tales!

Although Rapture has started to crumble,
    The splicers begin to mumble,
    "Lamb is on the rise..."
    With one injecting a tonic,
    His smile, demonic,
It is ADAM whom I truly despise

    My Darling Rapture.

    Rapture, oh my darling Rapture,
    What has become of you?
You were magnificent, but now you're maleficent,
    What has become of you?
You seem so very tired, yet your splicer's remain wired,
    What has become of you?
Your Daddy's roam while your Sister's moan,
    What has become of you?
    Rapture, oh my darling Rapture

    He Asked me Kindly

he asked me kindly to listen
he asked me kindly to find
he asked me kindly to search
    through the rubble and brine
he asked me kindly to kill
he asked me kindly to obey
he asked me kindly to die
    and I said no way
he asked me kindly to partner
he asked me kindly to stop
he asked me kindly to fight
and I did till he dropped

There once was a Lamb called Sofia

Whose motives to us are not clear

    We debate all day long

About whose right and whose wrong

But don't worry the realase date is near!!

    Time to Frolic

All our life's a play of plaster
to a madman whom we call "master",
He forces us to play his game,
    all because he's gone insane,
If you doubt him he may burst,
Not his last time, not his first.
He'll make your body a work of art,
in the sense that you'll be torn apart,
He's carried his burden hard and long,
I'm sure you'll hear it in his latest song,
Now to survive, complete his task,
Wait, "What's his name?" now you ask?
By now I thought you'd know him,
Of course, he's Sander ****ing Cohen!

"A Haiku I would like to share with you"
    "Rapture Will Haunt You"
"In A Sea Of Dreams To Die
    "Rapture Will Haunt You"

"Dedicated To What Raprure Is All About"
    "Into the plane"
    "Down into the sea"
    "Splicers will find you"
"And you hope they don't mind you"
    "You will find your way"
"Remember to keep the splicers at bay"
    "Watch out for Mr.Bubbles"
"Because he may give you some troubles"

Tear apart my mind and soul,

Condemn me to these empty halls,

My Little Sisters are all gone,

    But I'll continue knocking,

Hoping to see their faces once again.

In this big sweaty suit I do stand

I look down, see a drill for a hand

    a child creeps beside me

    and follows me blindly

I say with a wink, aint life grand?
