She's been on the surface for the past 10 years. What was she doing?
-Keeping an eye on all the missing girl events.
-Living a normal life.
-Trying to stop Jack from using the nuclear sub (via bad ending)
She was waiting for the sequel
After the ending if Bioshock 1:
Tenebaum: So Jack, I heard they're making a sequel with a Big Daddy as the main character.
Jack: Pppphhhh, my role was better.
Before the release of Bioshock 2:
Tenebaum: They want me for Bioshock 2.
Jack: Tell me how the Big Daddy does.
After Bioshock 2:
Tenebaum: It was crazy crap Jack! At the end the blablablablablablablablablablablablablablablabla
Jack: Wow. The Big Daddy was actually good then I presume?
While I may sound like a lore freak, or something, in the end of Bioshock, it never said that she went to the surface at all. In fact, the stuff that she said to Jack may have been sometime after Bioshock 2. Or maybe she went to live on the surface with Jack until she heard about the missing sisters. Or in the nuclear sub scenario, she might have managed to stop him and moved out of the city, and came back after hearing about the missing sisters. Or, in all likelyhood, i'm perfectly wrong, and there is already a perfectly logical explanation for what happened.

I remember in the Game Informer article back in April (?) that it was mentioned that Tenenbaum was in Ireland with some of the Little Sisters after the events of BS1 and has made her return to Rapture because she heard about the kidnappings on the surface.
She may have been in Rapture the whole time, trying to exorcise the Little Sisters that Jack had not saved.
Or maybe she was on the surface visiting her family.
More than likely she did a bit of both, surface and Rapture I mean.
i think she went topside for a wile but then after the girls where stolen and the reports of the lights at sea she went back..and maybe thats how the pawns learned about the boat that took lutwidge to rapture
Found out that Game Informer, in the new article about Bioshock 2, said that Tenenbaum did indeed return to Rapture after hearing about the stolen sisters. Other than that, no word said in what she was actually doing, though maybe she helped out Jack in good ending, or helped stop him and cover up the incident in the bad ending. Or she escaped after Jack and a bunch of spliced up lunatics blew themselves up with the submarine. After all, would you trust a bunch of insane, drug addled lunatics not to blow themselves up with a nuclear weapon?
Probably made a home near the ocean so she can do frequent visits down to Rapture if needed. But if I went through that kind of hell then I would have moved as faraway from the ocean as possible.
1: She created "Adam's green house" with the slogan <come bite the coconuts!>.
2: She was putting all the spam hate-mail from all the splicer into the "junk mail" section.
3: She was visting the "Adam's green-house"
4: She started splicing.
5: She was sent to rehab by herself
6: she and Lamb had a fancy costume battle
7: Lamb lost and she was never seen again.
8: Lamb became the new ruler of the city
9: Tenenbaum had awaken the first ever big daddy and sent him to Lamb, to show her the many different ways the drill can be used for.
10: Lamb creates the big sis
11: Delta (the first ever big daddy) finds the big sister hot
12: Delta is pissed cuz he saw her passport (20 yrs old)
13: Delta was so upset he started splicing
14: Tenenbaum introduces "Chechnya Vodka" to Delta.
15 Tenenbaum took Delta's second name, she is now known as - Tenenmbaum Prototype.
16: They lived happily ever after! ^_^

ah c'mon no one cares about Tenenbaum?
Pff, I actually thought she was the most boring character in BS1. I was pretty gutted when I heard it was her they were bringing back for BS2.
Maybe it was something to do with the fact I harvested the LS's, and she was so keen on saving them![]()
Probably. I thought Tenenbaum was one of the most interesting and tragic characters of Rapture because she discovered ADAM and made an amazing scientific breakthrough, and yet unwittingly sentenced the whole of Rapture to insanity as a long-term effect. I found that her character development through the Audio Diaries was so interesting to listen to, especially the Diary 'Hatred'. She knows what she's done..I'm just wondering what's going to happen with her in Bioshock 2.
I think it's gonna end like Planet of the Apes 2.
Everyone's gonna die but her. Shes gonna grab a Tommy gun and shoot a random nuke thus ending the legacy of Rapture... Unless there's a 3rd game
