I've always wondered about Big Daddies...

Where do they go in between scavenging Adam? Is there a Big Daddies Only area Splicers avoid?

Do they interact with eachother in someway?

How do they eat?

Is the process voluntary? If not, who was conscripted into the job?

Why is their voice altered? Is it so they sound identical to the Little Sisters and not spoil the illusion of 'Mr. Bubbles'?

Do THEY know its a different Little Sister every time?

Are they Spliced up underneath to give them theiur strength or are they NOT spliced so they have no vioent cravings for Adam?

Yes they repair rapture when their not working with little sisters.
They were people spliced to madness or political activtices made to do it.

Wow, lots of questions. I'll try to answer some of them.

Do they interact with eachother in someway?

Well from the gameplay it would seem they just walk past each other like the other doesn't exist. But once or twice I was playing and I was trying to squeeze past two Rosies in Arcadia (who didn't have little sisters FYI) and one swatted at me, missed, and hit the other Big Daddy, which then was infuriated of course. Needless to say, one didn't make it. But it would seem they only interact with other Big Daddies when bothered.

Is the process voluntary? If not, who was conscripted into the job?

I believe in one of the audio diaries it states that it was voluntary, but I very much doubt the volunteer was fully aware of what the consequences were. Which would explain why there are so many Big Daddies.

This might be the case, because if their real voice was still intact the Little Sisters might be able to tell the difference of their voices, thus ruining the illusion as seeing all the Big Daddies as ONE. But changing their voice to a deep roaring might also just be a intimidating effect aimed for the Splicers.

Do THEY know its a different Little Sister every time?

No, they are programmed under the same illusion as the Little Sisters. They see them all as a whole, rather then individuals.
