Crashes to desktop (NOT THE DEMO)

Ok, I have bought it straight out of the store.....and I'm not happy with what I'm dealing with.

First, I can't be able to run the game with DX10 yet in other games I can.

Second, why does it crash to desktop when I get to that bathroom (I'm still on "Welcome to the Rapture" level) and try to use "hole in the bathroom wall" thing, or other things when pressing M.....

    Please, any support appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think I can directly help you, but please post your OS, hardware specs, drivers versions, etc. to allow someone else to better help you.

This is depressing, looks like the full game has the same problems as the demo. Looks like Bioshock really doesn't get on well with nvidia drivers, even when they're written specifically for it

Who's to say it's an issue on nVidia's side? It may be, but we don't know for sure.

I guess I'll try to get on with the level w/out touching things ("e") and reading up information about them ("M")

I wasn't handing out blame. Everything else works 100% fine on said nvidia drivers. So I definitely blame 2K not nvidia.

well, I'm almost half not looking forward to getting home and installing after reading all this. I have a Quad 6600, 2GB OCZ RAM, 8800GTX, X-Fi Fatal1ty and Vista 32bit. It'd better run well.

I haven't looked forward to a game release this much since Quake 2, and now I have the heebeegeebee's...

Great, I thought I made it for another medical pavilion level, as it was loading....then it crashed to desktop now.

    Wtf?

I get the dreaded splash screen and then "Bioshock.exe has stopped working"...I have tried everything except reinstalling windows vista which I don't think needs to be done. I also meet all the games requirements since I just built my new system this year.

I just hope devs keep us up to date with what they are doing to fix the issues. The worst thing they can do right now is not respond at all. At least tell us that you are looking into these issues

Ugh, I've only played the first like 5 mins and was having problems, I'm really not looking forward to going home and fixing everything so that the game will work. Every single other game I have for my system works perfectly fine. I think some polishing was needed for this PC version.

I have the same system as you (aside from an E6600 and an X-FI Xtrememusic), and the game runs fine I wouldn't worry too much,
