When did you start getting suspicious?

When did you get Suspicious about Jack and Atlas and everything?

I got suspicious in Neptune's Bounty.

Mainly because of the Audio Diary Bathysphere Keys

    Transcript:

We're putting all the bathyspheres in lockdown until further notice. Ryan had us install some kinda genetic device into the things so only Ryan and his inner circle will be able to use 'em without dispensation. But the boys tell me the keys are pretty unreliable. Sisters, cousins-anybody in the ballpark genetically will be able to come and go as they see fit.

I got suspicious about Atlas in the same area mainly because it seemed Peach didn't trust him. Granted Peach is insane, Nobody you run into seemed to trust Atlas. And his sob story about his family seemed way to good to be true. Especially when I saw the 'Patrick and Moira' posters around Fort Frolic.

When I went down to the sub and he said "do you hear them in there, are they making any sound at all?"

I heard nothing and started to suspect it was all a ploy; however, I did not figure it was Fontaine.

I never suspected it, although it didn't surprise me when it was revealed.

Figured it out when it was reveled. My first run was pretty linear, didn't really pay attention to audio logs then.

Started to get a tiny bit suspicious in Neptune's Bounty. Just a TINY bit. Then, in Arcadia, when I saw the "Who is Atlas?" posters and he talked about how he was in the politics business and all that, I got very suspicious. But I was just expecting that Atlas was going to lead me into some dark cave and then ambush me or somethin', ya know. Didn't expect him to be Fontaine.

Actually, I was playing through Bioshock for the 2nd time a few minutes ago, and I had just passed Smuggler's Hideout and I did notice that Atlas sounded like Fontaine quite a bit (there's an audio diary by Fontaine on Smuggler's Hideout).

Sorry, but In-Game Discussion Forum is mostly open for spoilers without the tags.

Edit: Or, more likely, you mean, before you got the game, you had it spoiled...

^ Those are when I got suspicious, although the bathysphere keys I didn't quite link it to Atlas at the time.

Didn't notice the Patrick and Moira poster in Fort Folic until I play the game again, now I know where Fontaine got his idea from.

  14. I don't think I ever trusted Atlas to begin with. I think I was always on guard that he'd betray me somehow. As soon as his "wife and child" were "killed", Atlas became obsessed with you killing Andrew Ryan for him. I knew something was up. Also like many said, the posters for "Who is Atlas?" even strengthened my suspicion. But still the bigger reveal was that it was Fontaine all along.

I got suspicious with the bathysphere key audio diary, but didn't connect it with Atlas. I just wondered how I was related to Ryan.

But it was a big shock when Atlas turned out to be Fontaine. It's funny how they managed to get two separate VA's who sound similar.

That just freaked me the hell out, even though I was suspicious when he said he felt like he was being punished for bringing them down to "this place", yet when you're in the Tea Garden area, he talks about how he met his Moira.

Hey, weren't this forum. I didn't know it existed til I finished the game. I had it spoiled before I got the game. Then again, once the main thing was spoiled I thought there was nothing to lose and thus read the BioShock Wiki spoiling even MORE things.

Yeah, some things were spoiler for me too, though they were never big spoilers. I'm definately staying away from the interwebz when I get BioShock 2 for fear of it being spoiled in even the tiniest bit.

Fontaine slipped up there! (I'm sure he said he met Moira in Neptune's Bounty though, after you kill one of the spider splicers for peach.)

No, when you're in Neptune's, before going into the Fighting McDonagh's, he says something like "I feel like I'm being punished for bringing Patrick and Moira down to this place". But when you're in the Tea Garden (forgot where), he says something like "this is where I met Moira". I need to find the radio messages.

i didnt even know until my friend told me that Atlas was Fontaine which sucked for me.

It was confusing when Peachy was talking about Fontaine but when you find out it makes sence which i liked about bioshock.

"I'm Atlas kid, and I aim to keep you alive."

You could trust Atlas to keep you alive until you had killed Ryan, you were his "Ace in the Hole" and he wouldn't let you die because you were (probably) his last chance of defeating Ryan, and if you died before Ryan was killed, Fontaine had already lost.

"I'm Atlas kid, and I aim to keep you alive (until you have killed your dad)."

You may say, "Hey, why would Fontaine worry about you and do what he could to keep you alive, because every time you died the Vita-Chambers brought you back to life," I'd say "Fontaine didn't know about the Vita-Chambers, or he'd mysteriously forgot about them when he tried to kill you in Rapture Central Control and that sounds kinda fishy to me."

Or maybe he did knew, and he just said all those things and tried to kill you only to make you very angry, and chase him around Rapture into Proving Grounds and all the way right in where he planned to have himself become ultra spliced up, and to have you kill him, just like Jack did with his plain-old dad, thus letting both him and Ryan die at Jacks hand, and in that case Fontaine committed suicide by Jacks hand, and he doesn't seem to be the type.

I just cooked up my own conspiracy theory.

I knew before playing the game. I knew the entire story basically. Guess thats kinda why Im not too worried about any spoilers for Bioshock 2.

Well, I figured I was related to someone important when I heard Sullivan's Bathysphere explanation. I just prayed to God it wasn't Steinman or Cohen.

Then in Fort Frolic, I went into Eve's Garden and found out Jasmine Jolene sold her egg to Tenenbaum. That made me think SHE was the one manipuklating me for some reason, but I couldn't figure out what, except rescuing Little Sisters. Maybe I was recruiting an army of indestruble little girls to her side or something.

I never caught onto the Fontaine connection until I found Ryan's room with the videotapes and pictures connecting everyting. Even then, I still figured Atlas was just taking advantage of you, not that he actually WAS Fontaine.

In retrospect, it should've been more obvious since there was only one Fontaine diary at that point and absolutely no diaries from your famous revolutionary friend. Even then, I wasn't sure if Fontaine was really a mobster or just an important, charitable businessman that Ryan was jealous of.

I honestly didn't have a clue until I heard him start cackling after I put in the key. My heart sank in my stomach acid. Course I should be used to my favorite characters turning out to be evil maniacs. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't have a clue about who he really was... right? o_o

There's a momento in Hephaestus,i think, when you find a diary where somebody (can't remember who) says something like "...in fact, dying was not so bad for Fontain".Do you remember this?

When he told me to harvest a little sister... (also when he told me to "kindly" lower my wrench at the first encounter with the little sister without my having to press anything to lower my weapon)

I read on Wikipedia the plot for the game, but all this talk about "Plasmids" and "ADAM" and "Big Daddies" got so confusing that I couldn't understand any of it.
