I didn't bother installing it for XP, still using 162.18 and the demo ran smoooooth as. I do have the new beta but don't feel the need to install it since everything is A OK

    For vista...could be another matter....

Don't bother. The 163.44 driver doesn't help anyways. The game is unstable and in a BETA state. A very expensive beta test for those of us who bought it.

I agree -- the game is DOA. With the severity of the crashes I would say that the game is in Alpha state -- not Beta.

I have a 7900GT with the last non-beta driver release. I didn't install the beta drivers and have been running it 1280x1024 everything high except global lighting without a hitch.

It was crashing for me so I downloaded the beta drivers. It didn't solve the crashing, but it did look less pretty and it started stuttering, so no, I wouldn't recomend using the beta drivers. The July stable ones seemed to work better for me.

Well I'm knocking on wood as I post this as I have not experienced any problems with the game so far.

    I'm running an AMD X2 4200+/2GB Corsair DDR2(800)/eVGA GeForce 8800GTS/SB X-Fi Fatality. I'm also using the Forceware 163.44 drivers.

I have just gotten up to the beginning of the Neptune stage of the game. No lockups, freezes, CTDs, etc. I did have a one-time problem where the sound started crackling but a relaunch of the game cleared it up. I think it was caused by some background apps I had running, which I disabled.

Not trying to gloat about being problem free as I know how frustrating it can be to have problems when others seem not to. I hope 2K can figure out what's causing the problems and patches asap.

I'm crossing my fingers but if I run into any problems I'll be sure to post about it.

The game works fine for me on non-beta drivers. I'm running a 7800 GTx factory overclocked card with the Forceware 93.71 drivers. This is on XP Pro but so far I've had rock solid performance at 1600x1200 with all graphical detail as high as it'll go.

    I got a 15 fps boost average on 7900GS.

I do not however get any noticable change from disabling/enabling second GPU.

    Strange....
