Please newhandle I understand your displeased with the game (which truth be told I'll never understand why..) but please, instead of making it hell for us fans and become a mean o'l troll. Tom was too soft for me hopefully vito is more of a ruthless gangster..
I think it is a bit too early to decide. We don't know Vito yet.

as for Tom being too soft, how could he have been any other way, was the whole point of the story wasn't it

How can we pick if Mafia 2 isn't released yet and we don't know enough about Vito?
We know all the important bits about Vito. He's from a poor Italian family, an IMMIGRANT; which implies that he's very competitive. He may have been involved with the Mafia, but that was merely a coincidence because Vito was willing to make money from anywhere, he's good at heart and loves his family.
I'm certain M2 will end up in a similar fashion as M1. Vito will be eventually assassinated once the Mafia has fully used him.
There's a lot of info we know about Vito if you just think for a second.
Even though it's not a choice I'm going with Henry. He has a mystery about him. Vito seems to be a little too "heroish". If that's a word. I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

Tommy was a dumb wuss. How many times did he willingly allow people to go free? He allowed the hotel prostitute to live, spared the spectacled accountant, etc. He was easily hoodwinked by his own friend into disobeying the family and robbing a bank. Hopefully Vito has more backbone and intelligence.

I actually liked how Tommy was never really cut out for being in the mob, it really shook things up, and it was more interesting than just having a cynical tough guy in the middle of the story.
