    BETA Drivers the only option?

I went to download and install the new drivers that were announced for Bioshock. (I have a nvidia 7800 series card.)

The drivers are BETA and when I go to install them, Windows pops up with a message that HIGHLY RECOMMENDS not installing them as they may cause problems up to and including complete PC failure.

Is this really the only option for new drivers on launch day? I should trust 2K, nvidia, and/or other players that "it will be fine, just go ahead and install them"?

yes its safe. Windows is overreacting and its meant as a warning for people who have no knowledge at all. if anything you should make a restore point in your computer before installing them and you're safe

Yeah that message just means they're not WHQL which means Microsoft hasn't tested them. Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with them.

Don't worry about that, basically if it isn't certified by Microsoft then windows gets all paranoid and warns you about most anything you try to install.

BETA drivers 'FUBAR'ing your machine rarely of ever happens when the drivers are from the conpany that also manufactures the hardware...you only get into this kind of territory when installing 3rd party drivers.

    The drivers are fine.

It just means they aren't WHQL certified, which means nothing in this situation. And recent Windowses enjoy popping out useless warnings about non-WHQL certified drivers.

For those of you who have installed them: do they actually help? I could use with a small boost in performance.
