No sound + Pawns [excluding your player] don't move

    OS: Windows Vista
    DX: 10
    Video: e-Geforce 8600 GTS
    Mem: 1.512 gigs
    CPU: Pentium 4 3.0 GHz

First of all, I'm amazed I can run this at my highest resolution possible on my monitor [1280x1024] but I'm having a few issues, one that stops me from even playing the game.

First, the only sound played is durring the intro screen, and the part where Jack, your main character, is on the plane. After that, completely mute. No music or sound effects, nada.

Then when I enter the second part of the demo, where a splicer is suposed to kill this guy with you standing in the sub, the pawns don't move.
Both of the pawns, splicer and the guy are standing completely still next to eachother but I can still look around and all the lights etc are flickering so I know the game didn't freeze, just the pawns.

    Help please.

For starters, your CPU is on the low end of the requirements and P4s are not known for their gamimg capabilties. Beyond that, the current drivers seem to suck ass for 8-series cards in Bioshock. Wait for the newer drivers. If there is an option for EAX, make sure its off. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your audio device.

Ok I'm confused. How come my computer plays the audio for the title screen part and the airplane part but nothign after? And how come the pawns froze durring the second part of the demo?

Under sound, video and game controller, it displays "High Definition Audio device" with an audio icon to the left. It's by Microsoft.

Whatever came with the Dell Dimension 9100 is my mother board. I upgraded everything but the CPU and motherboard. I'm buying a dualcore cpu tomorrow.

Dell huh? Great...Some else might have to take over for me. I don't know which sigmatel chip was used in the MBs for the 9100s.

I have the same problem and my rig is pretty beefy. Also, the demo gets stuck after you enter rapture. The splicer and dude just stand there and don't do anything.

I will re-download later once the official demo is out.
