What do you mean by modded G15? Like what mod did you do? Paint or other?
Jack... It's from Heaven, Not hell.
I got a X850 XT PE, In my other gaming pc. AGP though. I still like my good ol' 9800 pro! The GTX's are my first cards I've used from NVidia. I'm happy with them...Although I've found two in sli, Doesn't really boost much... Price wise it's not worth it.
No.
.......
Oh nice, Yeah I bet it came out really good.
Bah.. I have headphones on every day... I find it a great thing to be able to not have to use headphones...
No but good headphones with a mic are key if you're into voIP apps in gaming. Like Ventrilo in CS:S and whatnot.
Check these out. They can be found on eBay for around $50 if you're lucky like I was. Normally retail for $120. Best headset I've ever purchased.
http://www.steelseries.com/products/...sb/information
They are nice... But naw not for me... If I do have to use headphones, I'll just use one of my studio pairs, Which I also use for DJ-ing. Really great headphones. Pricey though. Pioneer HDJ-1000's.
I'm on Vent and Team speak alot though, But I'll just use one of my studio mics. Not good for a lan I'm shure. LOL
OS: Vista
CPU: AMD Athlon64 4200+
Mobo: MSI K9N-NEO
Memory: 1GB DDRII 667MHz
Video card: Palit GeForce 7600GT 256MB
HDD: Seagate barracuda 320GB SATAII
mine should run bioshock pretty good if i get another gig of ram
EDIT: looking through the first 2 specs: WOAH!!! 8800s! expensive (well, for my low income i couldnt afford a computer with one. mine's a nice budget rig right?
Last edited by borgdrone89; 04-26-2007 at 02:58 PM.
Yeah Corsair is nice. But if your on a budget, G Skill makes GREAT ram... Even for oc'ing well.
It's about three years old, with minor modifications, but...
CPU: AMD Athlon 64-bit 2.20 GHz (3500+ MHz)
RAM: 4 gigabytes of DRR 400 MHz RAM (Four 1 GB sticks)
Video: ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 256 MB (Sapphire)
Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy 1 with Creative brand 5.1 speakers.
Keyboard: NEC
Mouse: Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000
Motherboard: MSI K8T Neo2
OS: Windows XP Professional
The RAM and video card were the components I replaced.
I'm planning on buying a new computer sometime before the release of Bioshock.
EDIT: The video card, if you don't know, is AGP and not PCI express.

yea y'know, your system is fast enough to where most wouldn't notice a difference. Mine actually isn't to that point. I'm having trouble determining if it's my setup, something i missed in configuration, or just all the running processes I have going while I game...but depending on the game (the first underground mission in STALKER for instance), and my frame rates just go to ☺☺☺☺. In oblivion, it struggles in the heavily-populated cities.
I'm thinking its my CPU. The GTX is actually claimed to be "CPU bottlenecked", so that would make sense.
It ain't perfect, folks. No sir.![]()
Nah!-dont need a PC!-Bio's gonna look lush on 360![]()
The only thing that is "slow" on your system if you wanna look at it like that, Would be your cpu.
And yes it is true, That these things will bottleneck pretty easy with a small cpu.
Could look into a new aftermarker hsf, And oc some.
lol i bought my "rig" 3 years sgo, all stock, a medion, and its still the best computer i have ever had and still works for all of my demanding games, but i did put a new graphics card in it, forgot what it was though, Im am somewhat "computer inclined" and only know the basics
Agreed. Sorry but the XBOX360 has already been outdone by the PC version, as Ken mentioned there is a path to DirectX10 enhancements for the game. Although, the only PC vidcards which support DX10 are still quite expensive, plus you need Vista, together that is more than an XBOX360 system. Ultimately you get what you pay for it![]()
Honestly, it will look beatiful & lush anyways. Graphic enhancements these days are all pure masturbation.

But! Us that have the hardware and software, Will be able to enjoy not only Bioshock in DX10 but also Crysis, Which the console will NOT get. :P
check, and check.
Besides, i think this project to make DX10 compatible on XP, Linux, and even OSX, will be ready by the release so i may not even need to use my ☺☺☺☺-ass-crap-balls version of Vista. *cough*

800 is the max Mhz my mobo can handle (4 slots, max 1 gig each)
BTW, with dual channel, are slots that are "channeled" together the same colour? cos i have 2 of each colour arranged
====orange====
====green=====
====orange====
====green=====
however, in the manual it says to do dual channel do something like:
===channel1====
===channel1====
===channel2====
===channel2====
which should I follow?
I feel so weak right now.
AMD Athlon 64 3500 @ 2.21
Xfx 7600GS
350 Watt raptox psu
1.5 gigs of Corsair
A8N-SLI Deluxe
Xion II black pearl gamer case
My system's pretty basic:
Windows XP
Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz (with Hyperthreading)
I've got a Thermaltake UFO on a copper Coolermaster heatsink (mated using Arctic Silver's new Céramique thermal paste) which I was using for thermal testing (the UFO's excellent, but the LEDs are super-annoying, especially if you want to play in the dark (I'm probably going to try and paint over them, or cover them with stickers.))
Redeon 9800 PRO
1GB of 'Crucial' RAM
Iiyama Vision Master Pro 411 (high-res monitor)
Soundmax digital integrated audio (on-board).
I've also got a Soundblaster Live! Value around the place somewhere also, but I've not fitted it since my mobo's on-board sound is pretty good and it keeps spamming me with pop-ups to enable it everytime I fit the Soundblaster.
I'll probably be playing BioShock on a 360.

LOL omg that had me cracking up for a good 5 minutes straight. Great way to start off a dreary rainy friday. Woohooooo]
But no srsly, ur rig iz pimp!
On another note, I'm starting a poll on this thread in regards to Console controls Vs. PC keyboard/mouse controls. What do you prefer? Is it just me or do FPS games SUCK using thumbsticks? I know there's a learning curve...and once upon a time i LUUUVED playing FPS on my N64 (GoldenEye, Turok, etc)...but now it just..sucks.
That "hunting big daddy" video is done on the 360, you can tell by the movements and smoothness of the panning around and inaccuracy when shooting. I'm surprised they haven't been doing these videos strictly on PC, but I guess the 360 version is going to be quite a bit more...stable at this point.
I totally missed that post— I had to go out, so I posted without reading the thread
I'm definitely going to have to get one of these:
You have all 24 alien-artifact slots filled? —I was going to fit them on an ad-hoc basis http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/ima...ons/icon14.gif
Check the manufacturer's website for the faq for your mobo (they should keep one updated at the site). If there's nothing about it in the faq (or if there's no faq) check for an updated manual (to download). If neither of those has the answer, check whether they host a forum, and look for the threads on your motherboard. You should be able to get the question answered there.

You'll wanna go 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 for the dual slots.
A few mother board manuals have done this...
I prefer console gaming to PC gaming, but I prefer mouse and keyboard to a joypad. My ideal is basically the wii, but I want a 360 for the games. If Microsoft produced something similar to the wii remote for the 360 then I'd probably play just the 360, because it would be both more enjoyable and more cost-effective.
True, but the poll asked for control preference, not platform preference. Often enough I see rabid console fans who still prefer keyboard/mouse over controller, but finding a PC fan that prefers a controller is like spotting a unicorn. The trend of those in the middle is to prefer a controller based on the genre of game, such as a controller pad for driving, fighting, or third-person games, but keyb/mouse for things in first-person or RTS. Since this is for FPS, I predict a 75% spread for keyb/mouse![]()
For the record, I DO have quite a few friends who actually prefer console controllers over mouse/keyboard.
They exist.
dun dun DUNNNN
Well this is the "mine is bigger than yours" thread...![]()
That being said I'm secure with the size of mine, but I do have a question (which is NOT "does this look infected")
What's a good fan to use to move a large amount of heat? Preferably quiet too as several of my friends' comps sound like they have VTOL capability. I'm looking at doing a custom case and I'm worried bout too much heat building up as I plan to use unorthodox materials.
So guys, it seems most of you have machines tough enough to take on this. How does it run on your computer?
Haha. Had to look up VTOL.
My favorite fan is my 120mm AeroCool that's mounted on the side (mostly for VGA cooling); I have another ThermalTake 120 on the front that gets REAL loud if i turn it up.
Guess it all depends on your size requirements, but how big of a fan can the case fit?
I suggest getting some kind of 3.5" bay device for controlling fan speeds to find a good noise/RPM ratio that works best for you. I'm sure I'll have to turn mine up some time come summer and the heat.
These Noctua NF series fans are supposed to kick ass...
Depends on what size of fan your looking for. You'll want one with the highest CFM you can find, To move the up most air, And one with a pretty decent RPM.
Something under 33 dBA isn't to loud.
