Look at the Turtle Bay newspaper cutting (June 14-26 file). Hugh 'Goose' Gaughan is also a ref to Howard Hughes.
Terry O'Quinn! I loved him in Lost as John Locke and in The X-Files as Lt. Brian Tillman.

Terry O'Quinn is awesome as Locke. He was also really good in the (original) Stepfather.

Heh I thought the same thing. You'd figure people would at least know the Leonardo DeCaprio version of Howard Hughes. I'd more figure Hughes as Ryan because he was an actual industry magnate who went bat**** insane.
I always thought Walt Disney in regard to Ryan.
