Would a mod kindly reopen the other Dark Mod thread and close this one? Hatesink requested that this one be closed and his new one left open, yet the opposite was done. In this case I don't agree. I think the old thread is full of inappropriate, off-topic junk (and a lot of my own inappropriate off-topic junk that I'm personally not particularly proud of, and would like to see sink out of existence.)
I think that to close threads because they (in your opinion are 'inappropriate' once off topic (as you have been doing recently)) while leaving this one open, is hypocritical. If it weren't for the new guidelines added to the site just before I posted the new Darkmod thread I'd basically take it personally (I'm assuming that had I posted the new Darkmod topic earlier in the evening rather than later (as I was originally intending), i.e. before the official forum guidelines were posted, then the thread would still be there).
I understand that you have to exhibit a certain level of control, but I think that, in this case, your use of the moderator privileges in keeping this thread alive just comes off as inappropriate and hypocritical (which is unfortunate).
If I myself am not permitted to engender a new thread on the Dark mod topic (for whatever reason), I'd like to request that a new Dark mod thread be posted, to get the discussion back on-topic and to eliminate (specifically) my junk from the topic discussion.
