    Nvidia Driver question - Elizabeth

Just was curious if these new drivers will work for Notebooks?

I tried updating mine once and it wouldnt let me and that I needed to refer to Dell for the video card update.

I have a nVidia Go 7800 graphics card.

Anyone know if theres a way to just dump those old drivers and install the latest ones on monday? I heard of driver cleaner but not sure how that works.

    Thank you

i don't know the particulars of the driver installs. i'd just check your particular card's site before trying to play BioShock to make sure you have everything that is the latest and greatest.

nvidia doesn't support laptop releases, instead they make it up to the manufactorer to choose the stable version to release.

There are some sites who mod their drivers to work on all nvidia cards, as the support is there regardless of they're officially released or not, take a look at http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

If you want to be absolutely certain your drivers are not gonna crash anything get a WHQL driver and remember to get the modified INF file and overwrite it in the setup folder or else it won't install.

go to device manager and select your GPU and click remove. Also go to add/remove program under Nvidia and select graphics driver, and remove that. restart your compy, and DL the new driver and double click to install. Run a Benchmark to make sure it took with no issues.

I don't know if the Go versions are any different in that aspect, but SM3 was supported from the 6600/6800 series.

Yes, 7800 Go can definately run Bioshock, don't worry about that.

What max settings do you think I could use? I run games like HL 2 great and enemy territories ran pretty well.

solobaricsrock: are you sure that will work?

FISKER_Q: I dont understand, you meantget the INQ file and put that in the driver folder and then download the new drivers to install?

Elizabeth: Thank you for your timely response
