    Tutorial idea

I got a bit bored at work today and started thinking about mafia 2 (naturally)

You start of in the barracks, you are instructed to walk to the shooting range where you obviously learn how to walk and shoot. You somehow get injured at the range and go to hospital. You wake up some time later and are told you going home and are instructed to get your things and drive to the harbour or train station which is where you learn to interact with lockers, boot of the car and how you drive. What do you think? Also I'm quite aware there is about a 1% you start the game in the war.

I think Vito was injured on the front, but the rest is a great idea. Even if he does wind up being wounded several weeks or months after he gets shipped off, simple plot devices could bridge the gap.

But, no "on the front" training like some video games like to do. Soldiers don't get shipped out to the front untrained so their sergeants can shout complicated and tutorial-like instructions to them while under fire.

Oh, and also, he wouldn't be in good enough shape to drive if he was being sent home for his injuries. The Army likes to hold onto you if they can.

not in favour of a separate tutorial, would rather be guided through the actual game in the very early stages, if they're going for this no loading screen once you're in idea then then they should stick to that, keeping the game movie like is more important imo.

I think the controls will be easy to figure out anyway. But good idea!
