I'm surprised you even got a game. I haven't had a ranked game in two days--waits are too long. Yeah, you can't have much respect for an American glitcher.

First up, my Russia v. USA. Got a couple HAs out, took Berlin, got free IW from a hut. Started making hordes of legions. USA is asking for diplomacy every. single. turn. I finally find him and he quits--hadn't even unloaded my boat yet.
Next up, my India v. Aztecs. I took the Zulu and Mongols before finding him c. 1000 BC. My InfiBlitzMarch KT took out his entire force consisting of one warrior guarding the royal library.
Had about 15 minutes left so I went Zulu and only needed 5 in a ridiculous FFA. Settled 2 tiles next to Kyoto. Quickly got an Impi army together. Japan leaves their cap to take London two tiles from their cap. I walk in on Kyoto. Spain takes London, I take London, then take Madrid which was three tiles from London. It was like skipping rocks. I think the entire FFA went up in flames in three turns.
I had a very unusual game last night. I was Egypt Vs Aztecs. I get a healthy tech lead and had expanded well after a HGB start and then I fell asleep. I woke up a few hours later at ridiculous o'clock to bombers attacking my cap at 2016!! I checked my gold and I had 35000 and around a thousand hammers banked in my prod city (which was 22 pop lol). He rushes a gazillion space parts next turn and I just set production to World bank and win next turn. Bless, if he'd not attacked maybe I'd of stayed asleep long enough for him to get the worlds biggest rocket to Alpha Centauri!! ;-)

i had it yesterday in a game, and got called out as an aggresive jerk. i tried to point out to the guy that the idea of the game is to win. if you aren't aggresive with the oracle you are wasting one of the most powerful early game tools.Originally Posted by elthrasher

i had a run of dirty play after not seeing any for awhile. 1st i left the room and came back stuck in a game with zodiac elp. he city collapsed athens, and tried to collapse glitch me to steal a settler. other than that he was probably winning the game. he messaged me that "horse rushing is not a skill". i lmao at that, and countered with "cheating is"? the game hung up on a random freeze an i convinced him that i'd leave my console on for days if i had to. he quit.
in later games i was barb prize nicked and dem glitched, and then gw glitched in the next.
This is pretty much why I stopped playing FFA. I used to have to deal with that moronic crap all the time in FFA. I think I've only seen it once in H2H.
Surprisingly, rarely see the cheating and if I do then it is coming from specific players that I know will do it. Why I play against cheaters? Because I can CHEAT BACK! I CAN REVERSE CHEATS THAT IS SHOT AT ME INITIALLY! Playing this game for years, I think anyone who has, should know how to beat a cheater if somehow a game is started with one and you walked away during the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 lol!
FFA is the iznet and what made me love the multiplayer side. I get as many games as I want against noncomputer civs and win. H2H used to be my thing and even reached rank 7 with Zulu. I stopped using Zulu as a main civ and now sooooooo many people use OP civs in h2h. I try to use French and get beat in the beginning or not enough barbs so I'm fighting for the 100g. I'd like to see someone with a favorite leader like Mawpawk with Mongols, someone with French or Russia... perhaps Romans.
My xbox is in my bedroom so I play when I go to bed! Plus I knew it was a kitten and I always try and see what the fastest non dom win I can get is in a live game. Then sometimes I get 30+ future technologies just because I can! It does get boring when no one is pressing you/challenging you in any way.
It's been done by a couple of forum member with all those civs. I think the hardest was for mongol then french.
I wouldn't say it was hard getting the Mongols into the top 10. It just took a lot of dull games. The only hard part is coming out of a 45 minute game where my opponent turtled in two cities and I had to tech up to bombers or something to kill him and then going right back into another one.
you have to be careful with that. the game will lag out if you go inactive. better to not play if you think you might nod off.

Strange as I never seen it. It is becoming more and more strange on how the people that be in the top 10 just up and let their rank reset. Thats h2h and FFA but I guess the people who have had records up there played 4 years ago, work that hard that they can't play one game a weak to maintain record, or simply don't care anymore about rank... I also think over 100 people have told me they been number one in FFA and I've only seen Mortena back in 2009, then Flashgordonahahah and now kyodai GT4. Never seen anyone else that is here in the forums or not in the forums that high ranked (but probably 3) since 2009.
This guy (KS BRowland 24) just did the city collapse glitch on me, ahahaaha. So sad.
I'm done playing this game, can't go to matchmaking h2h without stumbling into a dishonest person. Maybe I'll try the PS3 version.
Try joining some of our tournaments and stuff. You are guaranteed fair games and by that I mean that in all the tournaments we've run off this site, we've never had an issue that couldn't be settled somehow.

And barbarians just ate Itz Denied English cap @ 3000 bc he settled next to it and i took a friendly two tiles from the barb.

thats too bad. i played you the other day for the 1st time (ccolhandlewke). i remember liking your gt. i think you'll find it goes in spurts. i have gone months without meeting freezers or collapsers. keep trying, and use the mute function to avoid the obvious ones.
not saying my word is golden its just my personal experiances but my xbox bio has a number of cheaters on it who have cheated me if thats of any help, i only list the cheaters that i have personally played but i know theres a few more out there....i like 2 mute power civ only players so i know 2 be prepared

i've done this before, but then i run across them in a late night lobby and i can't remember if they are cheaters or power civs guys. i wish xbox had some feature to attach notes to gamer tags.

i'm losing all the time! today my english lost against an egyptian turtler with colossus, 2 desert tiles, and 4 water tiles even though i had a quite good start. he closely beat me to both money techs but was down to 1 city after i sneakily took one of his island cities and flipped the two others after waiting a long time for his culture to drop (this is why i love GAs). incredibly, he came back from that by GSing combustion and taking my empty cities one after another with only one tank army, now being able to profit from the money techs. my oxford university came 5 turns too late and the game glitched a little in his favor. i actually lost this one! i think it was the third game in a row. h2h ranked is fun again!

Get 100g by 3300 he gets hbr on first turn.Tech bw. I see a paused by screen and immediately afterwards the zulu are vanquished....city collapse alert. I send him a message saying stop cheating. He repkies with you suck. Game on.
I get an AA up in both cities although not initally in my cap as i put up a choke. Encounter a single horse i get a barb the next turn for vet warrior. Have a choke setup preventing access to cap form a WA on the choke.few turns later encounter his first HA. He attacks 12 v 9 and pauses it...i counter it and he retreats. I have 2 single archers extra in that city. Move my vet wa ocer 1 square next to the ha and attack with AA at end of turn lose 3 to 3. Attack with vet wa at beginning of next turn win 4.5 - 2.25. He pauses the game both times i attack him. I counter.
He tries anothet HA a few turns later and pauses i counter he retreats. I get KT knight and a few turns later i kill his 2nd ha. While he eas bringing the ha to me i had built 4 more cities and started teching math and building a barracks. Stopped for a few turns and built 2 more cities then finished math. He uses a Gs on monarchy after being in republic for 10 turns. By this time i have 2CA built with a third in progress. A vet CA and Aa on its way to his 100g city which has my vet wa 2 squates away from it on a hill. My 2nd CA 1 square from my city and in between st louis . He flips my 100g city. Two turns later i take it back with CA he tried pausing it I countered. I end up taking 2 cities from him with about 6 battles involved all with him pausing mid battle and being countered. I get navigation as my 4th tech but was doing over 30 per turn and backfill up to 8 techs
get a galleon fleet together and go take washington from him with him trying to pause again countered. He quits after i take his cap.
This guy had the nerve to call me a cheater after the game.

How do u counter "city collapsers"? I know how to counter freezers but not this. Fortunately, no one has tried using it on me yet.
I have yet to see a city collapse work against an archer army...just single unit archers or warriors. I normally do not build armies but i did since he city collapsed the ai. The freeze counter is what i use anytime someone pauses.
On another note I had a game hard freeze last night when i launched my spaceship.

Right. You have to win the fight for it to work. Otherwise all city collapsers would just use Zulu and collapse everybody with single impis.
My spanish vs Clankillaz USA. I move for 3 turns get a friendly which gave m a spy and i settle 2 squares from thebes. Walk in at 3600. CoR in thebes. 10 tech per turn for next 5 turns netting Bw and IW. Switch thebes to gold. Name two tiles and get 1 barb. Find another barb but usa horse kills warrior. He takes tripoli. Find a whale island for 100g city. Produce a barracks and some legions find technochtlan. Get 25g for IW. He takes aztecs. I have a GA (like 1800) flip technochtlan and get a HA he has a wounded vet ha next to it and it wins 6-4.5 game takes my gold for archer but he gets the city anyway despite the archer being rushed before the battle.
He gets to republic and irrigation first. I get currency and math. I find AoC and camp it as i only have.3 cities. I produce two cities and take 3 of his including tenochtlan and take the ark. Apparently he got construction first as i get that and irrigation off him.
I get a GL settle in cap. He gets a GS from monarchy and gs feudalism. He comes at my territory with 1 KA and retreats from 2 battles then sues for peace as i am now in democracy. I have 1 vet AA 1 leadership AA 4 vet legion armies 1 ninja GG legion.army.one ninja blitz cat army and one vet cat army on the galleon fleet headed for washington.i land a militia 3 squares from washington and see 4-5 knight armies headed towards tenochchtlan and st louis. Barracks built in workshop city connected to two others by roads. He attacks a vet pike army city snd retreats i attack and kill ka from hill with single cat and he quits.
I was at most 10 turns from taking washington and tripoli. Gg clankillaz
Can someone set up a thread how to counter city collapsers and freezers I would like to have that knowledge.
Does anyone never horse rush? Every game I played with Thrasher he horse rushed. I guess you have to in H2H but not FFA as much unless your Aztecs or Arabs. At least that's what I do.

I usually always horserush. There are occasions when i won't do it, though. For example, if i'm playing spain i rarely do it. Lots of times i won't do it with romans, either. Actually, there are several other civs that there's a good chance i won't horserush with. Just depends on t he game. I also probably won't horserush if i'm playing against zulu, either. Unless i'm using aztecs.

I don't every game, but I usually do. In addition to the fact that AI caps are so easy to take, a horse army just soaks up gold off the map at a rate that you never could with warriors (barring Zulu). They are also good for pressing your enemy.
