I like the Old Little Sisters More
I really don't care....
Looking at screenshots from Bioshock 2, I see that the little sisters look a lot different than the ones from the first game. The Bioshock 1 little sisters look more cartoonish. The Bioshock 2 little sisters are more creepy and real (is it just because of improved graphics or is there a story behind it?). I personally prefer the new ones.

The little sisters in Bioshock 2 look much prettier and appealing to your character because he is a big daddy. They all see the little sisters differently than everyone else. As Jack, they were in those dirty, torn rags of old dresses, but in Bioshock 2, since you are a big daddy, you are programmed to see them as more "normal" girls who don't look to have anything wrong with them.
I like their new looks as well, it's a bit creepy how they look all well-dressed and yet their jamming needles in corpses. Certainly fits with the atmosphere O_o
I think I like the newer ones better. I always thought the old ones looked weirdly cartoony. The new ones don't seem to look like that. These ones look creepier.
I've been told the same a few months back. It sounds reasonable, but this piece of info must've been revealed in a BS2 interview or podcast that I haven't seen/heard yet. Because in the first game, I don't remember anything explaining that the BDs are conditioned to see the LS differently. I'm kinda balancing the old and new, but I can't decide which one I like more since the scale is balanced imo. The only dilemma I have is that the new LS has a fashion-model ponytail while the old LS has this tiny pathetic stub (Aw, look at that wee, little tail). But that's not enough to compell me to choose one over the other.
I like both of them they are both cute and remind me of my little cousin.

I don't see that much of a difference :S Maybe I am not looking hard enough.
I guess that could be true, but just making them more pretty in Mr. Bubbles' eyes doesn't sound like a reason for them to have a natural affinity for them, unless every Big Daddy is a pedofile. In that case why aren't they called Big Creepy Uncles?

I love the new Little Sisters, they're cuter and more realistic, and still feature the same ghostly presence of the original Little Sisters. I do love the old Little Sisters though, I still find them adorable. It will be a bit weird to see them differently this time around.
Aesthetically I like the new ones more but I'll always love the first Little Sisters. They have an appeal of their own since I "know" them better.
I don't really care they both have adam and they both say "Mr Bubbles..." and thats all that matters.
I may be the only one who likes the old little sisters just a tad bit more, just because of the creepiness of the little girl and the innocence of her once you save her(if you do, greedy people!!).
I think the dramatic, physical appearance change turned me on the most for some reason when I decided between the two.
It's probably because you can actually see the dark, possesed side of her actually separate from her emotions, appearance, mood, and ultimately her all together.
I wonder how long the new Little Sisters have been down in Rapture? A few months at most? Maybe we'll get to see the "ugly" side of the new Little Sisters when we see their reflection in a mirror.
I still can't make a definite decision yet since I haven't seen much of the new ones yet. But I can tell it's going to be really close match since they're both so cute.

I heard someone say that in the multiplayer when you look at yourself in the mirror you see yourself as normal, but when other people see you you look like a horrific splicer. So why can't it apply to the Little Sisters in some way? What I'm saying is, in a unbiased perspective, you'll see things differently. In this case, when the LS's reflection is on the mirror and you look at the mirror (it will show what she really looks like). It's just speculation, not saying it'll actually happen.
That's why I also asked how long they were down in Rapture. If they weren't down there for too long, then it's a possibility that the Little Sisters we see haven't been exposed long enough to the enviroment to be "transformed" into something ugly (eg: old little sisters).
Well first of all splicers are f-ing crazy!!!! 2nd why can you only see the little sisters in their true form in a mirror? Why not all the time?
The reason why we can't see them in their true form all the time is because - stated previously in this thread - supposedly the Big Daddies (including the PBD) are mentally conditioned to see the Little Sisters as cute/beautiful/normal little girls. Basically it's the same kind of concept revolving around the Little Sister's mental conditioning when she sees a corpse as an Angel. But Jack did not have this "veil" over his mind/eyes so he was able to see the Little Sisters for that they really are. Same concept goes with the mirror: it displays your true reflection without bias (unless it's a tricked out mirror that lies to you). Once agian, this is just speculation.

Their mental conditioning causes them to see certain people and things differently, but not what they see in mirrors or reflections.

It's all just speculation as Ureh stated, I just tried to describe it as simply as I could.
I honestly don't really care all that much, we'll see when it comes out. Any other topics about little sisters.
In a sense you can think of it like vampires,human would see vampires a certain way,but when vampires look at themselves in a mirror they see something totally different.
The little sisters are in a sense Brainwashed so what they see from their eyes doesn't reflect what is seen in the real world.
I already covered the whole vampire thing so go back and read it.
i think that the reason the Big Daddies see the little sisters are cute and normal is all psycological. So they would look the same no matter how you were seeing them, with a mirror or not.

You never really "covered" it you sort of just touched on it.Nevertheless vampires would be probably the best thing to compare the little sisters to in terms of the whole mirror thing.I suppose we could try something scientific like saying its the same thing as DNA looking at itself in the mirror,but that wouldn't make sense,thus is the reason i made the comparison to a vampire.
Has anyone considered the possibility that the new Little Sisters look cleaner than the original Little Sisters because the Big Sister takes better care of them than what Suchong did for original Little Sisters? She has a "special" personal bond with them that he lacked.

I voted that I like the new Little Sisters more. However I wouldn't necessarily say I like them more, because I like them as much as I liked the younger Little Sisters. Also the new ones look slightly more human-like, which I think, is a good thing.
That is a very good theory,its seems plausible....Some people have also theorized that the reason the little sisters look cleaner and cuter is due to the fact that we are seeing them from the eyes of a Big daddy who also have some mental conditioning.
...or better graphics
Part of the appeal of the new Little Sisters, I think, is their response to the prototype Big Daddy, which completely contrasts their response to Jack. They are friendly and affectionate toward the Big Daddy; they are hostile and defensive toward Jack.
which still doesn't explain the looks
The looks might simply be the Big Daddy's perception of the Little Sisters; people interpret things differently according to their state of mind. Then, again, the looks might be the result of the Big Sister's care and devotion to the Little Sisters, the care and devotion that Suchong lacked.
....or it's just a graphics upgrade
Definitely not a graphics update,looking at the hunting the big sister video ,the game seems to use the same game engine,which i'm sure they did to keep true to the look of the first Bioshock. As for the little sister,graphics have nothing to do with it,the little sisters that are being used in Bioshock 2 are entirely new character models which means they have been constructed from the ground up and not just an upgraded LS file from BS1.
I love the little pinafores / aprons the new little sisters have- kawii!!!!
I prefer the new ones, the old ones faces looked wierd. I was using PC, does anyone know if the faces/graphics were diffrent compared to xbox and ps3?
The new little sister's voices have a more haunting tone.....I've seen the gameplay trailer like 5 times and whenever I hear the...
