    Is it a true sequel?

I just finished playing Mafia and I loved it. gameplay and story was great. Combat in the game seemed much more challenging then any other free roam or "sandbox" style game. Driving in the game also made me realize how unrealistic it is in other games. Everything felt much more realistic, If I dropped a magazine from my gun,any unspent bullets left inside the mag are gone and not just transferred to an invisible pouch of bullets,If I get shot in the head I die, if I crash I get hurt. Police pull me over if run a red light or speed. Will Mafia 2 have the same kind of feel? Watching some of those videos it seems kind of like a more pure action game. Anyone want to tell me good news?

If you've only seen the hotel video then yes I would agree it did look a bit arcadish but from recent videos it seems that they've changed it and plus 2k would know there would be hell to pay from their fans if they made it too much like gta

If you haven't seen them these are pretty recent

2K have said there were aspects of the original that they feel could be more exciting so some things have changed that you could argue are more arcade, health system etc, but the core stuff looks to still be there, and it does have the same writer/director.

some of things in the vids are work in progress, most are from an early alpha version, hopefully the Gamescom media will give a better indication of the final game, but as a HUGE fan of the original I'm not too worried about the changes, yet

  4. I think there are plenty of things that needed to be changed, such as how often and easily you ran into the cops, the sound that is made when the enemy is killed, the driving physics, the grafics(which are obviously way better), the size of the town, the number of missions, and the amount of choice in how to beat a mission, parts of the storyline, i could go on and on.

But i still like the old game, there are just alot of things that could be changed for the better. And it seems that they have done that while still keeping to the oldschool feel.
