hello.
i have been having problem with the game in the loading screen just before entering rapture(really at the beginning). and i noticed in the installation that there is one file that it had a problem with but i just clicked "ignore". it turns out this file is somehow connected to the problem.this is the file:
C:\Program Files\2K Games\BioShock\Content\Maps\1-Welcome.bsm
so here's my request. i would really love someone who has a working game and got past that point to upload this file for me to any uploading server and post the link here or email it to me to nadavm390@gmail.com.

That file is 62MB in size - not really something to easily pass around. There are also iffy issues with copyright so I do not recommend you try to replace this one file with a possibly worse file a random person may send you. The best solution if this file is somehow damaged in your installation is to re-install the game. There are no activation limits anymore so you can do that as much as you like. If the error with that file persists after a re-install and the installer gives no errors then there may be something with your computers configuration which is causing the error.

Edit: Re-read your post - The best solution is to exchange your DVD for a new one. Try to clean it first in case there is dust on it or in the case of a scratch you could use a DVD repair polisher. But if you just purchased it then bring it back to the store and ask for a replacement.

actually... the file is 32MB in size-it's roughly 30 min upload on a 2.5 mb connection.re-installing won't help because the error occurs during the installation. and i preffer anyone's file because right now i can't play the game at all past this point so anything will be better.in the worst case scenario i will just re-replace the file given to me if it's worse.
so please i have tried a butload of things to try and make this worse.this is the only thing that comes to mind that might solve this.i've tried every troubleshooting and issue thread in this forum.
so please just try and help me out here and send me this file.

The problem is that the 1-Welcome.bsm is a known error with an illegal download of the game.

If you purchased the game the file can be easily obtained from your dvd version of the game, if you purchased it from steam it will be in the /SteamApps/common/ folder.

You will need to send the game to the below address along with a covering letter explaining the problem. Please note for any scratched or cracked CD's there will be a replacement fee of $7.50 This should be in the form of a cheque and made payable to Take 2 Interactive. You will need to send the cheque along with the damaged cd (inc. full packaging) and a covering letter detailing the problem. If the disc is within the 90 day warranty and proof of purchase is sent with it and the product is deemed to be a manufacturing fault then no charge will be made for replacement.
