I don't know if my memory's chronology is wrong, but yes, 18 fathoms was certainly the last measurement that can be seen. However, I remember the window was then covered by the projection screen, and the bathysphere still continued to descend whilst Andrew Ryan's movie was being played. That took quite a long time, so it's definitely way more than 18 fathoms deep.
Cohen's puppet. You are exactly right, I think. 18 fathoms is the last measurement we see, but you just have to assume that you continue to descend while watching the film.
But Rapture can't be too horribly deep because there is a whale swimming through it and whales prefer to stay close to the surface. Plus when you're in Rapture the water outside is clear and brightly lit, so you're obviously not too far under the ocean. But it is a game and they were going for environment first and excruciating realism second.
Okay, I don't meant to sound like a goon, but what's an easter egg?
An easter egg is something that can be found in the game which makes reference to something famous, like a real life person, another video game etc....or it can just be something amusing that was purposely put in, but made difficult to find.
Rockstar are one of the best developers for putting easter eggs in their games. For example, in Grand Theft Auto IV, If you go into the statue of liberty, you can see a heart beating where her heart should be. In another instance, as you are driving round the city, you can see billboards advertising other games.
If you look in the section with screen shots in, you can see the water has merely been tiled. You could swim to the end but it would just stop you and everything would look the same. "Invisible wall" to stop you going off the map. Try it for yourself by using the ghost command![]()
There is like an invisible wall, as in it appears thats your moving but when you turn back around the lighthouse is the same distance away as it was 3 mins ago.
