That 32 oz Big Gulp you finished half an hour ago? The cover comes off. When you're done, replace the cover so you don't spill, but DO NOT replace the straw! This way you won't accidently take a swig in all the excitement. Trust me, you don't want to make that mistake.
I just started dabbling in MP. SP has gotten stale - I unlocked all achievements and the AI is more annoying than challenging. In my two MP games so far, I've had two losses, both against good players in FFA. It is kind of amusing how someone summed up most FFA games and these two were no exceptions: Fairly early in both games, two players dropped. I managed to hold my own in both games until the 1700s at which point I got handily trounced - not that it wasn't predictable (to me anyway). I'm still trying to get a handle on the different mechanics compared to SP.
So, here are my st00p!d n00b questions:
When your done with your round, just hit [B] (on the 360, anyway) to end your turn, right? You don't have to do anything else? Then if you're the first to end the turn, the clock starts counting down, right?
If your covering a large part of the map and other players are moving into view offscreen, what happens? For example, say I'm camping on the Ark, hopin to have more than 1 city before I grab it, will I get sufficient warning that someone else is moving in, or is this just a bad tactic?
How the heck do you have voice conversations? I see my kids do it all the time in COD, does anyone talk in this game?
How about sending text messages? Do you have to [pause] the game to do it? (which would, of course, be uncool to other players)
What is the "resynchronizing"? Does it mean a player has left a game and came back? Can a player leave, let the AI take over, and then come back?
I haven't seen any show stopping bugs in only two games, but the lag is incredibly disappointing, especially when I see my kids hitting a movement-packed COD game with many more players than CivRev has. I take it that it is normal to send a move command and have a 2 second delay before it executes?
Lastly, is there a graceful way to bail out early for whatever reason? I mean, it's other people playing, not just a machine, so I figure courtesy should count for something.
