CivRev2?
unfortunately i dont think we will see a sequel to my favorite game. has anybody heard talk on it?
-
As far as I know, there has been no word on a new Civ. Even if there will be, the next will most likely be for PC, but I also hope they make another console version.
-
To date, I'm not aware of any solid talk about a sequel to CivRev. The general consensus among the fans here is that a sequel will be more than welcomed, so long as it fixes the worst of the bugs from the first game.
If a sequel does come, it will be on the consoles. I very much doubt they'll make it PC only - that's what the main Civ series of games are for. If it does come out on the PC, it will be in addition to the console versions.
My guess is that if a sequel does come, it'll be announced at one of the major game expos either later this year, or next year.
And just to make things perfectly clear, I don't work for 2K. The only 2K staff here have 2K in front of their user names. I'm just another fan.

I keep checking various websites for whispers of the possibility of Civ Rev 2 with no luck.
But here is a link that at least teases my desires: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=296745
They give some really great ideas for what a Civ Rev 2 should have.

how would they change it? new civlizations, i dont think they'll make a brand new game just to add like 2-4 more..
it would cost to much.. also what else could they add nothing much..
improve maybe... maybe the bonuses.. but im so used to them that.. it would change everything

This forum has a long-running CivRev 2 wish list thread here:

They could add Calvary, Helicopters, Aircraft Carriers, allow more than just one nuke.
Treaties that allow you to cross into ally's territory.
Huge list of wants. But, could it be made for this generation of gaming consoles? Maybe the PS3 (I have XBox 360).
I for one would like a game to progress much slower (play 10 hours or so).
In short, borrow many things from Civ IV but not all (painful road building, worker creation, etc).
