Modding Your body and becoming Deformed

    Hey All,

I'm new to the forum and just played the Demo which was awsome. I'm actually looking to see if there will be a choice between being able to mod your body and become deformed like those you are fighting, or choosing not to use the plasmids and using only technology, thus not being corrupted.

I had heard this aspect of the game was going to be added, was I misinformed or was it taken away? Thanks for any feedback. Btw, I did read the faq's and never really saw anything that completely addressed this, sorry if i missed it!

    Hi and welcome to Rapture!

I am not sure if this has been officially confirmed but, from the media that I've seen is that there is a certain degree of bodily deformation that has to be performed in order to advance to mission critical areas.

You have to use electro-bolt to flip the switch for the entrance to Rapture right?

But it would be pretty cool if there was an option for completing the game without corruption. It would be very much like Bioshock's predecessor
System Shock II where you can play the game without the Psi powers, which are synomynous to Plasmids.

So please correct me if I am wrong

I don't think that could be the case, because at least Electro-bolt is required to open the door after the Gatherer's Garden room. I can only imagine more things requiring this method.

    Wont you go insane?

Well the reasons I ask to , is that if I understand the Demo correctly - the Plasmids did this to the denizens, so it stands to reason that if they go insane..so will you - if you use it excessively, i would only imagine.

I agree, I think that having two alternates would be fun. They might also opt like a few days do.. You have to use it once (I.e. To get into Rapture), just so they can teach you the game mechanic and then it's your choice from there on.

The citizens of Rapture were constantly using their plasmids, so maybe because ur only using ur plasmids as weapons and to open doors, maybe the deformation wont happen so quickly.
