Do you have evidence of this (text or verbal messages to that effect) or just your own mind working overtime? All of us in the community need to give the same benefit-of-the-doubt we would want from others. I know it's tempting to associate malice any time a game ends inconveniently but before doing that you should at least get 2 sample points. 1 sample point is completely statistically insignificant. 2 isn't much better but the probability of 2 events happening identically when it's low probability is so much lower that it gives more credence to the circumstantial evidence.

I typically play someone at least twice. If in both games the game freezes just as I was about to take their capital, I call that "circumstantially significant" & then refuse to play that player again. However, if they pop into the lobby I'm in, I don't leave. I just don't ready up. We can sit there staring at each other as long as they like but I figure I'm doing a community-service by holding them up. I don't report them to XBL however since this is circumstantial. If a guy is stupid enough to send me messages to the effect that he just froze me, etc...., I do report them to XBL.

I will still play people as long as they pass this 2-game test, even if they use diplomacy/GW cheat (which some top-10 H2H players do).

    best regards,

He paused the game more than once.. He was trying to freeze

PS: I beat him like 3-4 times.. He decided now to freeze it

PS3 leaderboard does not tell the full story. When the game freezes you quit, then get tagged with a loss..even if you are crushing. Leaderboard resets. ID fails, which you have to create a new account. Winning and sometimes get tagged with a loss are just some examples of why this leadrboard is completely flawed. I actually checked the leaderboard for my 2nd account after I couldnt get matchups on it anymore. I knew I had 4 legitimate losses. Low and behold my record was 7-11. That means 7 freezes or disconnects that impact the record. I wouldnt worry about if your leaderboard gets messed up due to freezing. It happens to us all and you can generally tell if the player your playing against is decent or not.

Yep, my son has beat him before. You might try the tech/eco/culture victory paths as I hear the pause glitch is harder to pull off if you don't attack him.
Most Zulu players aren't very good at the "long game" so this can really work on them.

i think if the game freezes just about when you take someone's cap and you see the pause screen in the same time it's significant enough. i would never play that guy again

He's frozen me several times, always right when he realizes he's losing or his rush doesn't work. It isn't Morte's imagination. He doesn't appear to be very skilled, tries to block your production with single non-vet non-fortified single impis, and also tries to attack cities with archers with the same.

    lol...

i think im believing too, because freezes happen mostly when people either have bad internet, or when theres a bunch of junk and cities in the game, and being early, idk, maybe he did freeze it

I've already posted about a run in with this guy.

same happened, I owned him in space and techs and he started trying to pause freeze me on one turn, then time out the turn on the next. he did this for some time then the timer locked at the end of turn and wouldn't continue.

I wasn't attacking him at the time. I knew he was trying to freeze me bc he was taunting me over the mic to attack his army.

he just left his xbox on until I quit a few hours later. he's in the top 10 (dependant on the day) and the only reason he's there is that he has figured out how to do this often enough.

oh, and do a player review on him so that you (should) auto avoid him in the future. I also reported him to XBL for cheating, but I doubt they'll do much about it until a large number of players complain.

start posting your unethical players list in your profiles on XBL, because you techincally can't do it here.

some people are too liberal about branding certain players dishonest, but there are several confirmed, and you can look at my and Kyodai's profile to see some of these people.

haven't run into this guy, but thanks for the knowledge, thought he kinda poppped up out of no where, when that happens, this is sometimes the case.

True. Morte, you know better. Please don't force me to ban you.

Calling individual players out is not allowed here. Nothing good can come of it. We've covered this many, many, MANY times before. If you want to share this kind of info, do it somewhere else.
