I thought this game was all about being immerse. Then whats the deal with the hacking system? Whats immersive about putting tubes in the correct place so that blue liquid flows through it?
I dont get it. Why not something like cut wires and connect other ones or whatever? Why pick something so un-immersive as a puzzle game?
its probably meant to represent you reconecting the fuel line pluss if you freeze the bot the water/fuel flows a lot slower
It is a fun simple mini game. It gets a lot harder when the game progresses. There will be alarms in the bots that if triped, will set off the security system.

Item shimmer is to help you see items without having to go right up to them.
The mini-game...just feels like a mini-game, when it shouldn't.
Think about it, you're surrounded by splicer's...you start hacking the security cam... lalala...oh a nice relaxing mini-game to take my mind off those darn pesky splicers...wow, I really like rapture, these security cams and their mini-games are so fun. Oh great, Ive finished the mini-game....lets get back to the game now...
Why couldnt they have made it something following the rest of the game...it seems out of place tbh...
It's a video game. It's not something to be so up in a huff about. I think it fits with the quirky nature of Rapture.
I suggest waiting for the full game, when the hacking wont be as easy.

Lol, i doubt ill be playing the game that much anyway...not when you can buy everything out with 10 dollars...but I think money will be scarse in the full game though...
The harder ones probably cost more...
Also, the beginning could be easy even in the full version and it just gets harder as the game progresses. It had been mentioned on one of the demos that this game is about starving for resources.
I'm thinking no one wants to go through college again just so they can play a mini game.

I don't think it was, judging from the demo... they even said that it was part of the reason why this one plasmid was taken out, because once the game was paused for hacking, it became useless (the plasmid would cocoon you in a shell to protect you as you hack). I'll play the demo again to make sure.
It was in the latest podcast, the plasmid one where they mention it.
I never really paid attention to that while I'm hacking, but if I start hacking does everything end up paused or not?
Oh, they changed it? Interesting. I had heard Raveness go on and on about how great the real time hacking was months ago when I first joined. I think she might have assimilated my brain.

Back to topic... is it real-time or not? I can't remember from playing the demo.
Just got back from the demo. The game's paused. As I type, I'm at the hacking screen with a splicer right behind me....

Hrm... alright. Well there's a plus and minus to that. If its how the game is, its how the game is. Remember, things do come up that screw up the hacking. Kinda like minesweeper mixed with pipe dream!
It does somewhat take out you of the action, but if its such a big deal just buy it and go right back into the action.

anyways, if the demo is any indication resources won't be a problem. i finished it on hard with 60 tommy gun rounds and god knows how many pistol bullets.
