    What we know so far:

The game starts in the winter of 1946 in the fictional city of Empire City which is heavily inspired by N.Y.C and 16 square kilometers huge. When Vito Scaletta arrives by train to the Empire City after his military service, has recently continued a poor life. The town lays white snow everywhere and the people walking around and there are daily workers at the station. Before a few years ago, Vita was caught by the police for a small theft. The judge offered him in prison, or service in the army. Vito choose war.

At the station Vito waits for somebody, his old buddy Joe Barbaro since the school life together made a variety of business. At last Joe came and picked him at the station. Both have the same dream and they see only one way to get fully "up". It is already a waiting car before the railway station. "Beautiful car he is" astonished Vito. Joe is canalizing: "Yeah, to receive when zacne? business." Both of them only see one way to reach wealth: to work for the powerful Cosa Nostra, the American Mafia which is nowhere as influential as in Empire City. Joe already did some jobs for them and that's because Vito is pretty impressed by the car in which he picks up his old friend. Now we are in Empire City?!!!

Empire City in 1940s certain, the end of the 2nd World War II, the economic development of any power, and many veterans are hardly compares to return home. Metropolis is full of immigrants. Irish, Chinese, Italians - the largest group have their own city district, setting the rules, which do not always correspond to the laws of the United States. In this quarter, the Italian has for many years dwelt interesting criminal organizations, which came mainly from Sicily - across the Atlantic: Mafia. This Mafia racket, steal, and murder and also holds firm as a whole in itself, is confident, with no fear, and its members wear expensive suits and manage the best car. For young men, such as Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro, is life as a mafioso great way to get from the social emergency. As this way the two friends manage - the Mafia 2 tells us, and absolutely no doily and without any myths. "The first was a Mafia declination before gangsters old movies. Mafia 2 is based on reality. Our Gangsters already by far not so cool, but are much closer to ordinary people." Vavra; the director says. The story the game is divided into two major parts. The first it is reported on Joe and Vito way to Mafia. Upon arrival at the station begins Vito completely at the bottom - as shop boy and less Mobster, the mechanics Mika Bruskyho steal a car thief, or for Henry Tomasino doing here where some small business. And so is slowly getting to the "Cosa Nostra" - U.S. Mafia, proceed to the ladder and become "associate", then pedestrian, and gradually become mafia men unscrupulous. That's how he advances in the organization which is indicated by grades (such as "associate" or "soldier") as well as a meter which shows his respect within the Mafia. By killing innocent civilians for example, this meter sinks drastically.

At the end of the story after a long service Vito comes to the crucial situation. Empire City is divided between the three gangsters family - Falcones, the Clementes and Vinci. "In the game you'll need to make important decisions" says Vavra. Thus the second part of the plot will be chaos, because families are breaks between the war - and soon the fight to the blood. Vito and Joe will have to share some business. Although Vavra does not want to divulge any details yet, at least strophe adds: "In essence, is the second part on how Vito and Joe screw things up!"

At least at the beginning of work and Joe and Vito to its reputation as gangsters, this has very important in the game and in more detail. As in the real world there are many ways to ensure respect - either strictly followed the mission, or it is heavy strike to urban life in the Empire City and will be here to look for other challenges. To get a higher reputation within the game you can also do some of the side quests. The first Mafia didn't had a lot to offer in this respect but Mafia II has a lot of coincidently generated missions which don't have anything to do with the story. If you finish these missions you get reputation and money. The first part Mafia was in this aspect a bit Monotonous, outside of the mission was not much what to do. This is in Mafia 2 change. And the developers promise, for example, random (unconnected with the story) tasks, which can either increase your respect, or the amount to your account. Hard-earned in turn, can spend money in shops for new equipment, clothing, food and new cars. These purchases do not just fill empty, but things have purchased and the importance of the game. For example, a quick change of clothes means that you no longer recognize police and also when you buy food and drinks, and so you recharge energy. And the car will get a lot of money for special models of cars that do not find elsewhere on the street. New cars are simply an object of prestige (or also a possibility to escape from the cops). To park them safely you can also rent parking lots - and it also costs money. Moreover you're able to tune your cars. Official already mentioned "random" tasks in the study, unfortunately, we have no further information?

don't think anyone is going to reveal the plot and storyline, and if they did post it here I would hunt them down.

given that Mafia 2's storyline is a such a big part of the experience asking to know it before playing would spoil the whole thing, so it's probably better not to know....

    Question

Will Lost Heaven, or any of the story of Mafia, play a part in Mafia II? It would be very interesting to have some sort of context, for Mafia II, based upon Mafia.

I refer to my most latter questions: is Mafia II to occur in the same 'reality' as Mafia I? Is the city of Lost Heaven, not though necessarily part of Mafia II gameplay, still a city--as real as the suit, on your back, in Empire Bay?

Where do you currently reside? Regardless, that place is now in co-existance with New York City, New York State, and the port of Seattle, Washington State. Is Liberty City in co-existance with the city of Lost Heaven? No, Liberty City is not in co-existance with the city of Lost Heaven, until confirmed by developers of both games.

Is the city of Lost Heaven in co-existance with New York City, New York State? No, the city of Lost Heaven is not in co-existance with New York City, New York State, until confirmed by developers of the Mafia franchise. Is the city of Lost Heaven in co-existance with "Empire Bay?"

We don't know much about the story, but the multiple endings will be very cool!
Thing I don't know is, whether you have to start from the beginning to get to alternate end, or you can just load a savegame 2-3 missions before the end and then you can still change it.
