A tattoo, a mark?

Trying hard to keep all of my posts on-topic, I'll answer an earlier question. The symblon on the wrist is a chain, not a bunch of loops. It looks something like this: o-o-o-o the links show their openings, and then their sides, like a real chain. What I want to know is why the tatoo is only on part of his wrist? It would make more sence to have the broken links in a prominent place, so that people could tell that it is, in fact, a boroken chain. Is he trying to hide this fragment of chain? Maybe I should look at some 1960's history.

I've always thought the chain resembled some sort of genetic symbol,others have disagreed,but to me it resembles the marking on the Plasmi-quick or Gene bank(Hate )as its now known.we could be a product of rapture itself or perhaps an opposing faction?

My thought is that the tattoo-like mark is a result of genetic modification. Perhaps that's where your plasmids activate from?

I think Levine made it pretty clear that your character's motivations for being on the plane were entirely up to the player's mind.

One thing no one has seemed to mention yet is that maybe you can get tatts in the game. With Rapture having this focus on plasmids and changing everything about yourself, wouldn't tattoos make sense as well? So, perhaps there is a place you can go and get tattoos put on your character.

Possibly.but would these be available so early in the game?-I think the Symbol on the tail of the plane,and the tattoo are linked,its almost as if irrational want us to play detective and work out these clues-either that or we are simply reading more into it than there actually is.I'm certainly intrigued anyway.

I have an idea. Mabye right before the plane crashes you are walking around the plane(i heard it mentioned that you can pick the spot where you wanna be when it crashes)and go into a room with a desk and folder on the desk. You pick it up open it about to read when you hear an explosion and screaming. You drop the folder and try to grab it back up but the plane goes at a like 70 degree angle and you are flung against the wall,when you come to you are floating on a piece of reckage,then remember only one thing,the picture of you in the folder with a stamp on the front saying CONFIDENTIAL.

Yea,I know that really didn't help out,but I liked the way i wrote it.

Thanks to MS Movie Maker, I was able to isolate this capture of the airplane's tail....what do you think of the logo? Looks like a bird's wing or something like that.

(I still believe it was a prisoner transport via airplane...)

While it's clear that it is on his skin (which really kinda makes this post utterly redundant), if it WAS on his shirt, just for arguments sake, that could have some kind of interesting backstory such as the character finding a sweater or something while in Rapture belonging to one of the sides of the war. The marking therefore being some kind of symbol for one side.



So as it's not on his shirt, you have to keep in mind the ties that chains and chainlinks have with mariners and sailors, (especially considering the setting of the game) who are also stereotypically fond of tattoo's. So perhaps our protagonist has some kind of marine history.
