    New Characters?

Okay, I know we've got perhaps references to the new Mark Meltzer(perhaps....) and the big sister, along with the playable Proto-Big Daddy, but I'm curious about any new ones. I'd love to see some more characters that feel like references to Atlas Shrugged and other Ayn Rand works, even if they are featured in a corrupted form(like a Ragnar Danneskjold character or some other music tycoon named something like 'Thompson' after the Harmonizer)

I'm sure were bound to meet some new people. That way, there would be someone to answer some questions. Although, I'm not sure who would talk to a Big Daddy.

I'm hoping to encounter more spliced doctors. It would be amusing to come across a spliced up mortician called Lazarus who has supposedly dead splicers scattered around that jump you (similair to the ending stages of BS1)

well I think that the Game Informer preview stated that there will be new characters in their own twisted are of Rapture, as it is so big and you only visit a few of of the many locations.

Take example, Steinman with Medical Pavillion, or Sander Cohen with Fort Frolic, there will be new areas with new atagonists, maybe a circus with a demented clown?, or maybe a zoo with a spliced up zoo-keeper with an army of Rhino Splicers???

Taken from another thread I posted in about this earlier today -

Maybe if there's a zoo level (please 2k make it so!!) then there could be a spliced up zoo-keeper who takes splicers who wind up in the zoo and "splices" them even more, but this time instead of splicing them with Adam, splices them with zoo animals, so you would have a Rhino Splicer, and then a Lion Splicer..and etc.

Maybe there could be a new plasmid you could get there, called Animal Growl (or something), that would give off a big growl, and would render then enemies in its path your personal slave for a certain of time (as a growl is associated with Lions, and Lions are the king of the Jungle).

Also what would be cool is that picture this, you exit the Bathysphere to Rapture Zoo, you approach the massive gates, the Big Sister swoops down before you and opens a smaller gate that you go past once you go through the big gates, she disappears and you hear animals. A moment later about 7/10 mutated Rhino Splicers come barging through the open door and start ramming through the big gate, all this time while being this the mad Zoo-Keeper (maybe he would be an old friend of Andrew Ryan, and after hearing of Jack killing him in the first game, decides to take matters into his own hands and bring Rapture down even further, but before he can (as Rhino and other splicing takes a number years to perfect) the Big Sister shuts off Bathysphere access from there, effectively trapping him, but not now since you came there), comes on the radio says you will be my next invention...the Elephant Splicer, and and then Tenenbaum comes on the radio and tells you make your way through the Rapture sewers, so you can go through the zoo and get to the other Bathysphere on the other side, but obvously this fails and you have to make your way through the zoo grounds, facing the animal splicers and the zoo-keeper.

    Sorry for Big Post.

What about someone who was messed up in the head to begin with, someone who was a psycho before being spliced up? That just adds a whole new level of dementedness.

Yeah it does, and think what would happen to someone like him after being exposed to Adam, and its mind-destroying properties, he would be how many times worse!!!

I'd laugh so hard if the opposite happened though. Like he actually gets better.

If I were to be serious about that, lets say his thought process progresses like in Flowers for Algernon. He's crazy and demented, but most of all not extremely intelligent. With ADAM, his mind opens up, making him lose a bit of his dementia, but keep an overall psychotic view of those around him.

The end result, a man who, after his "cap" for IQ rose, he became a criminal mastermind, going as far as to take control of his own section of rapture.

Some new boss characters should be result of Rapture's survival of the fittest. Characters that have gained a lot of power that splicers begin to follow them in order to not be seen as a threat.

Who was that one guy... The other guy who founded Rapture.
I believe his name started with a "D".

His name was on that little dedication trophy in the first level (when you get electrobolt).

What dedication trophy do you mean? The only thing i ever remember seeing Demitasse's name on is the sign outside the window.

I want to learn more about the big daddy you play as. Why did they not try the mind controlling plasmid on him, or if they did, why didn't it work? Was he anyone significant before becoming a big daddy? Will we get to see the whole process of him becoming a big daddy (skin removed, organs grafted into suit, etc) and any complications they might have ran into during the transformation? I know the game takes place after the events of Bioshock but some prequel stuff would be nice too, even if its just in a monologue at the start of the game. I want to be able to sympathize with this first big daddy. This was hard for me to do in Bioshock until we found out the truth about Jack from Ryan.

I think they should have a lot of new insane people.

Some that eat splicers etc and absorbs their power and knowledge would be cool. They could grow bigger and more powerful with each foe eaten.
Some insane medical types would be good.
But not clowns. I hate clowns.
Some insane criminal splicers would be good.
    Like the serious Batman villains.
A insane splicer circus would be good.
And spliced animals would be good.

Well, the thing to take into account is, this big daddy may not have all the attributes of the other big daddies, being the prototype he is. Perhaps, he has a high intelligence and a will of his own, and even a removeable suit, but after "tests" it was shown that the other methods of producing and maintaining big daddies were better, and you were put "away" as some sort of lab rat to be held and referenced to.

In otherwords, think of it this way, all the rules that apply to "normal" big daddies don't automatically apply to this character just because he's a big daddy. He may only be a Big Daddy in sense of "intended purpose" and even look, but not functionality(guess a good example is he can use plasmids)

I don't think there's any information at all about who Demotisse is, really.

Incidentally, Big Daddies don't have their skin removed. According to the audio diary by Suchong, the skin *and* organs are grafted into the suit. Exact text: "Take a man, graft skin and organs straight into suit"

And again... please, please no animal-looking splicers or spliced animals.

Well, skin removal was hinted by early concept art for the original bioshock(shows a big daddy guarding a little sister from Gun fire, and we can see a breach in his helmet, with a mutated mass of greenish muscle instead of skin on his face). I have the picture somewhere if you'd like, though it'll require some...ahem, digging.

I can imagine animal looking splicers, but not "actually" being animals, rather being like the bunny mask wearing splicers in BS1, wearing some kind of "tribal" helmet designed after some animal(would fit in lovely with the 10 years later theme, seeing some Splicers reduced to tribal style, like Saturnine times 10!)

That's concept art, though. Suchong says the skin's still there.

By the animal-looking splicers, I meant Mr.Big_Daddy's post about a zoo level with people spliced with animals.

Oh, I just got the skin thing from the bioshock wiki. I still think it'd be interesting to see what went down when they put this guy in a big daddy suit.
