The first thing you'll do?

Ok, so you've got the game, you're home ,you've taken it out of the box, you put it in your Xbox360/PC/PS3, you start it up, and this is your first opportunity in the game to do whatever you want.

So what will you do?

Me, I'm gonna get me some money, providing I don't have any already, by beating up some pedestrians. Next I'll "acquire" a car, unless I'm in one already, and drive to the nearest clothes shop. After I pick a nice new outfit, I'm going back to my car to cruise around for a while and see the sights, visit a restaurant and maybe spend about an hour opening and closing the trunk of my car (I've always wanted to be able to open the trunk in a game ^_^)

not exactly free roam, it will still have a movie like linear story like Mafia 1, but there will be more things to do, choices to make, side missions etc.

Drive!!! Check physics and then the cover-function, but there will prob be a small training walkthrough in the beginning, like a mission that will be played later on in the game then something dramatic will happen and the game starts a few years before that. =)

most likely (like others have said) i will start playing the game (i.e. go through the story etc) and IF i actually need to do side stuff to help me on missions later in the game then i will roam around and jack cars/slap people etc etc, because it's always nice to have a insurance plan so you dont get screwed over later in the game.

I'm at the end of my posties round and she doesn't get here till midday, so first thing I'll do is probably hijack her van as it tries to drive right past my house earlier in the morning, is kind of in keeping with the spirit of the game

1st -go to the store 2nd- scream like a crazy guy when i recieve the game 3rd-go to my home sit and see the screen like 5 hours, then i will start the game and i (will play it in the living room so it will be more cool) and just before the first mission i will take a look at some district...not all the city

I am going to do all of the missions first in while I do the missions I might go for a bit of a roam every now and then then when I beat the game I might roam more and get 100% completion of the game then I will go over to multiplayer and if thats really good then I will play multiplayer heaps.

First thing ill do is smoke a bob; turn up the volume all the way and lock myself in my room, then put the disc in the tray and start the game; While the game is loading call my fiancee and tell her we cant do anything for the next 2 months; then ill play the game, get in a car and run as much people over as I can and have a big shootout with the cops. Someones gotta test the physics engine

first i will try getting used to the controls, then i will explore around the city before i can do any missions..

I'm quite new to the forums here so forgive my ignorance, but is this all confirmed to be doable in game? Cause i got a 40s style mafia hat for xmas and i wear it whenever i play Mafia 1 and if i could buy a replica for my character ingame it would be freaking awesome

on topic, i'll be back at uni by the time this most likely comes out so most likely ignore my studies and hit people with my car, singing some Frank Sinatra as i go along.
